TALENT/RIGHTS MANAGER

The Rights Management role is responsible for supporting the creative product in all matters associated with negotiating, contracting, procuring the applicable rights necessary to utilize the creative concept. This role also provides costing, insight, guidance and expertise in assessing and managing risk associated with the execution of the production of (motion and still) advertising as well as social and digital content. 

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include – 

  • Consulting and oversight of Celebrity Talent, Music and third party content 
  • Providing above the line and job specific talent awareness, including negotiations, insight and recommendation of hiring practices, including reviewing the creative and identify any potential rights issues early in the process 
  • Evaluate and provide projected costing of talent/model and other fees 
  • Assisting with drafting and reviewing all celebrity contracts as well as music licenses and other intellectual properties. 
  • Support the creative and production process by providing hiring, compliance and clearance guidance to increase the creative opportunity while minimizing any potential risk associated with the creative execution. 
  • Identify potential intellectual property, likeness, trademark challenges and solutions 
  • Provide guidance and consultation on guild, union and other rules, restrictions and contractual issues that may arise during the course of production 
  • Manage and mitigate risks in the associated creative assignment. In particular, identify and flag risks associated with intellectual property, SAG, AFTRA, AFofM or other talent concerns.
