Job Description

Why we are looking for you

  •  You have hands-on experience with the complete patch management lifecycle including testing, deploying, troubleshooting missing patches and patch issues, etc. utilizing the change management process and patch management and automation tools necessary to ensure compliance and successful audits. 
  • You have 3-4 years of experience supporting RedHat Linux, Oracle Linux Operating System with 2-3 years of experience on Solaris Operating Systems. Possess scripting knowledge using Perl, Python, etc. Should be able to manage HP and DELL blades, virtual servers on VMWare, AWS and Azure platforms. Manage servers remotely using consoles like DRAC, SP, SC, etc.
  • You have thorough understanding of TCP/IP and IP addressing concepts along with knowledge of SAN and NAS Storage technologies will be an added advantage.
  • You are good at documenting and updating Manual Operating Procedures (MOPs).
  • Should possess at least one certification rom RHCE (RedHat) or SCSA (Solaris).

What you will do

  • Responsible for installing, administering and troubleshooting RHEL 5.x, 6.x & 7.x, Solaris 9, 10 & 11 OS, AIX, HP-UX
  • Responsible for supporting physical and virtual servers (VMware)
  • Administration of Symantec/Veritas Enterprise Suite (vxfs, vxvm, vcs) management, and environment integration
  • Remote administration using consoles like DRAC, SP, SC, etc
  • Responsible for keeping management up to date on any outstanding production related issues
  • Automation using shell/Perl scripts for day to day system administration task
  • Responsible for managing the ticket queues and adhere to the SLA.
  • Willingness to work in 24/7 environment with rotational shifts .

Qualifications

  • BE/ B.Tech/ MCA – No correspondence course
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices
  • Desired skill set on LDOM, Virtualization technologies
  • Desired to have VMware ESXi
