Job Description

Rauxa is looking for an Associate Art Director to work remotely or in our New York office (once our office reopens)!

The Associate Art Director is a junior or entry-level art direction position that will partner with Creative teams in the design and production of creative concepts, campaigns and projects. The Associate Art Director takes part in job briefs, helps define, refine, and execute designs through rounds and builds comprehensives for client presentations and mechanicals for release to vendors for production.  We are looking for a self-starter with a can-do attitude who is hungry to learn, contribute and create great work for our clients! 

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with Art Directors and/or Senior Art Directors to produce design materials
  • Work closely with Copywriting team to develop creative concepts
  • Ensure concepts, rounds and final mechanicals are accurate and error free, including file construction, organization, and prepping of files
  • Be responsible for helping refine the design of projects
  • Communicate and interact with Account Service teams to ensure design remains consistent with client expectations, campaign strategy, and client brand guidelines
  • Support and back-up Production Artists to ensure the accurate release of final mechanicals to agency vendors by the agreed deadline
  • Remain up-to-date on the latest developments in software applications, printing techniques and production technology
  • Maintain archives of final mechanicals and photography files

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Literature, Communications or equivalent work experience preferred
  • You have 1-2 years of experience in a professional or internship position
  • You have a portfolio of art direction/design samples
  • You are skilled and efficient in the use of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, including the ability to make changes quickly and accurately
  • You have an understanding of graphic design, including layout, typography, and illustration
  • You are highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects with total accuracy and attention to detail
  • You work well as a team player in a flexible, dynamic and fast-paced environment and re willing to take creative direction
  • You have excellent visual and verbal communication skills 
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude.
