Job Description

Performance Opportunity:

This restaurant chain team is seeking an eager and passionate Assistant Account Executive (AAE) to join our face paced team. The brand is a creative powerhouse within the building, launching big campaigns and activations at scale. We are constantly pushing for breakthrough creative work and efficient production solutions and the right AAE will help deliver flawless execution for our ideas and the client. 

Scope of Work (General deliverables, types of media and/or creative opportunity): 

As a valuable member of the team, the AAE will be responsible for managing the execution of specific projects for the brand across a variety of channels.  This person will also be responsible for the gathering and dissemination of vital information to all members of the agency team. 

The following outlines the AAE’s job priorities/responsibilities.  Success will be measured against these expectations and as he/she/they becomes proficient with these, there will be opportunities to gain additional responsibility. 

1.     Executional Management

  • Learn the agency’s creative and production processes in order to help the team achieve flawless execution. Know each step within the process to drive work that is on time and on budget.  
  • Work closely with the SAE on all projects – including, but not limited to point of sale (POS), TV, OLV, Radio, Digital, Social and Brand Activations.
  • Manage, update and fully understand the day-to-day executional documents that both the internal and client teams use in order to be successful in every project’s delivery. 

2.   Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Competitive Expert

  • Proactively seek out QSR industry information (articles, trends, new product launches, etc) in order to help compile information for the internal strategy/creative teams & client. 

3.    Relationship Management

  • By understanding and knowing the roles of all cross functional teams within the agency, the AAE will serve as the face of the  brand within the agency’s four walls in order to achieve flawless execution and one of the brand’s “go-to” point people.

Hard skills: 

Overall Brand work that covers channels like In-store point of purchase (POP), Print, Digital, Social Media, TV and Radio. Brand Activations are a big focus as well that includes cross agency involvement.

Soft skills: 

This AAE should have the following skill sets: 

·       Multitasking:  The AAE should be able to support multiple projects at once, moving them through the process based on the timeline for each individual project. This role will eventually also require managing multiple projects at any given time. 

·       Fluid Communication: The AAE will need to have clear and fluid communication with their manager. If there are questions or roadblocks, managing up and setting clear expectations will be crucial to delivering flawless execution. 

·       Attention to Detail: The AAE should possess the skills needed to pay close attention to the details, which will be critical when managing projects both large and small in size.    

·       Relationship Skills:  The AAE should be to develop relationships with both internal team members and the client.   They should be able to command a room and lead a group of 10+ people through briefs, reviews and delivering feedback.  

·       Good Attitude: Looking for someone who embodies a drive and motivation to learn about the industry and the brand that they work on.  They need to come to work every day with a curious mind, wanting to soak up as much as possible.  

Any knowledge/ability mandatories:

This AAE should come into this role with eyes wide open and an eagerness to learn. 

The goal is to have the AAE be the “execution expert” supporting, and eventually managing, multiple projects at one time, each within different stages of the project’s lifecycle. They should be an active participant throughout the process, from a project’s briefing, through creative development and final execution. They will be able to roll with the punches and pivot when things change as they often do. However, it won’t just stop at the completion, this AAE will take initiative to understand project learnings to translate them into insights for the future.
