Job Description

Overview:
Zenith is looking for a talented Associate Media Director, Multicultural Strategy to drive change and help deliver more meaningful, culture-driven marketing and media strategies for two high profile and fast-paced accounts. This person is an intrinsic part of a large team of omni channel strategic thinkers and will lead a team in the development, execution, and stewardship of media plans for these clients.   The AMD effectively leverages their culture-first experience, knowledge and skills to push fresh thinking while balancing client, agency, and team needs with dedicated support in the way of senior level top-down guidance and direct reports.  This position has dual reporting, into both the VP, Strategy leads for each of the clients as well as the SVP, Multicultural Lead for Zenith. 

Role Objectives:

  • Drive change
  • Deliver effective marketing and media strategies and lead all day-to-day aspects of planning across multiple campaigns with a culture-first mindset
  • Culture first plans built on culture-first data that deliver on business results
  • Lead by example
  • Act as the cross-team leader, integrating all aspects of media to define and execute campaigns ensuring that culture-first thinking is at the forefront of all plans
  • Collaborate, Inspire and Influence
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of all cross-channel media (General market and Culture-first partners), with a drive for curiosity and passion for the client’s business
  • Establish and grow client relationships by demonstrating a command  of industry and client business issues
  • Work with internal teams to gauge media performance and KPIs to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met
  • Cross pollinate culture-first learning among your peers
  • Keep the Lights On
  • Follow detailed instructions and use  stablished procedures to complete work in a detailed manner
  • Demonstrate solid command of “back room” functions including but not limited to billing
  • Reach Down and Pull Up the Next Generation of Talent
  • Commit to developing skills of Assistants, Planners and Supervisors by managing workload, delegating responsibilities and checking work for accuracy
  • Provide job performance feedback to subordinates to manage career trajectory of the junior staff and make recommendations to management
  • Mentor and guide direct reports to ensure proper education for advancement 

 

Qualifications

The Other Stuff

  • B.A. or B.S
  • Agency experience highly preferred with  2+ years of experience managing junior staff
  • 6+ years of media planning experience with concentration in  culture-first strategy across Hispanic, African American, LGBTQ+, Asian
  • Strong media partner relationships
  • Solid  understanding of programmatic marketplace; hands- on keyboard experience not required
  • Computer Skills/Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, Mbox, MRI/GfK, GWI
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with ability to present to clients, maintain client correspondence and internal documentation
  • Relies on experience/ judgment but knows when to pull in managers if they need help
  • Resource for others in resolution of complex problems/issues
  • Excellent management, motivational, organizational, interpersonal and quantitative/analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new propriety software and processes quickly and proficiently
  • Understanding of Activation/Negotiation team functions
  • Manage projects, resources, stakeholders, and participants
