Client Information:

NatWest Group (recently re-branded from RBS Group) is a major retail and commercial bank, serving nearly 12.5 million customers across England and Wales. There are a number of brands that sit under the NWG portfolio incl. NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lombard, Coutts and Ulster Bank. Across their brands, NWG supports both personal and business banking.

With a relatively new CEO at the helm, NWG have taken the opportunity to refresh their brand purpose which is to champion the potential of people, families and businesses. In line with this purpose, NatWest has been running MoneySense, an impartial financial education programme for 5–18 year-olds, for more than 21 years. Whilst the ambition of financial capability for all remains firm, 2021 will see NatWest launch a new brand platform that ladders up to this ambition and will transcend all areas of the business.

NatWest Group is the biggest client on the Zenith roster, with an annual media spend of £40m and a team of 20 planners.

Job Description

This Planning Executive role will report into a Planning Manager.

The planning team on NWG is currently split between Demand Generation (Brand) and Demand Conversion (Performance). This Planning Exec role sits within the Demand Generation side of the business so will be predominately focused on brand-led media planning. This opportunity will involve working within a small team to develop cross-channel media plans, as well as ensuring the smooth implementation and reporting of campaigns. 

Reporting into the Planning Manager, this role will be focused mainly on the Royal Bank of Scotland brand, as well as Students and looking after campaigns supporting the educational game that the bank have released for children called Island Saver.

 

Responsibilities:    

The Work

  • Be skilled in working with all planning related tools and drawing out insights
  • Support your Manager in day-to-day running of the account and campaign planning work
  • Deliver operational excellence with a keen eye for detail
  • Be a self-sufficient, self-starter in supporting the team
  • Ensure all outputs are your best work, accurate, and on time
  • Able to build and present reports based on media performance and feed into PCAs

The Clients

  • Build positive relationships with junior clients
  • Deliver proactive, immaculate client service every day
  • Be enthusiastic, attentive and deliver a positive impression to clients
  • Understand client’s business and identify and share category news

The Commercial

  • Show an interest in and learn how we make money
  • Support commercial delivery of the team, where appropriate
  • Support your Manager in delivering absolute financial accuracy and PO management

Qualifications

We are looking for an ambitious, self-starting planner who can work autonomously on projects if needed, but also enjoys working within a team with a strong, collaborative working ethos.

The client’s business will require us to work at a fast pace and alongside multiple stakeholders, so we’re looking for a positive, can-do attitude from someone joining the team.

Excel and PowerPoint proficiency is required. 

Financial Services experience would be ideal but is not compulsory.

Experience across both brand and performance would also be a positive attribute to have given the nature of the client’s business, albeit the focus of this role is firmly around brand planning.
