Duties:  Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for brokering enterprise data and maintaining database and Hadoop environments; Master Technology stack, developing expertise on the enterprise's dataset; capturing, storing and utilizing the corporate asset of the proprietary data model; designing and coding solutions on and off database  to ensure application access to enable data driven decision making. Extract, transform and load data on Data Warehouse Platforms, using analytical queries taking into account performance, disk space and memory usage. Working closely with end user communities of Analytics, Decision Sciences and Operations to ensure enterprise data warehouse solutions and assets are actionable, accessible and evolving with the needs of the ever-changing business model. Analyze data and identify business possibilities for better operational processes and business opportunities. Enhance applications to process data files and manage file processing workflow automation; develop new and support existing reports and datafeeds; Maintaining and Developing databases and data-driven applications, Designing, testing, deploying, maintaining and enhancing software solutions; Assuring key database performance and capacity metrics meet needs; Providing troubleshooting assistance , identifying and resolving performance issues including tuning processes. Maintaining technical details and data flows in wiki confluence; working on stash for source code control, code reviews.

 

Requirements: Employer will accept Master’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or related field; and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following:

 

1)      Hadoop;

2)      making analytical SQL queries against multi-petabyte databases;

3)      data architecture (storage and usability);

4)      Market Place Python application;

5)      Greenplum database;

6)      SQL, PL/SQL;

7)      Linux;

8)      Shell scripting;

9)      .Net; and

10)  HBase, Kafka, Hive, and Spark.
 


Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
