Job Description

Epsilon is seeking a Senior Director of Analytics to join our growing Strategy & Insights team. This senior-level analytics leader must be able to represent Epsilon and our client’s analytic team with key internal and external stakeholders, enabling cross-disciplinary teams with data-driven insights to drive strategic thought and effective decision making towards achievement of business goals and progression along the analytic maturity path. In this role, you’ll exhibit strong domain expertise in marketing, digital, and social analytics, and be the influential and objective senior voice in the room. You will also provide a clear vision, plan, and leadership in delivering actionable and innovative analytic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership to 3-5 FTE Analytics team members at different geographic locations. Lead and develop the career path for the team and scale their influence
  • Be the single point person for the client representing Epsilon Analytics. Provide leadership for overall management of analytic projects including profitability, timeliness, quality and client value
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand the client’s business situation and develop data driven insights to drive marketing, digital, media, and social strategies
  • Align to the overall business strategy when driving the direction of the team, projects, and processes
  • Develop rapport and relationship of trust with key client personnel ranging from individual contributors to senior leadership
  • Develop analytic approaches to solving business problems, provide thought and execution leadership including development of and delivery according to analytic roadmaps and project plans
  • Design, plan, manage, lead, and present a wide variety of analytic projects from start to finish. Manage the multiple resources and projects concurrently towards successful completion
  • Serve as a hands-on expert on analytic practices in measurement solutions and frameworks, reporting, dashboards, attribution, descriptive analytics as well as advanced predictive and prescriptive analytics
  • Formulate the ‘story’ by synthesizing analysis findings, implications, recommendations, and roadmap towards achieving business goals. Develop deliverables including presentations
  • Deliver high impact presentations, be the objective voice, be in command of the audience, and turn presentations into dialogue and drive discussions towards decisions and outcomes
  • Support the sales process by assessing prospective clients’ needs and crafting and presenting proposals that meet those needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline
  • 10+ years of professional hands-on experience with descriptive analytics, statistical analysis, modeling, segmentation, data mining using large marketing databases
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience conducting marketing analytics or working in another analytical field with a demonstrated passion for data driven problem solving
  • 5+ years proven managerial or supervisory experience with excellent coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to think strategically and ‘big picture’, formulate appropriate analytic solutions to solve business needs with proven experience in managing & delivering a wide variety of analytic solutions
  • Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently
  • Proven experience in customer analytics, multi-channel attribution, online controlled experiments, media optimization, campaign and promotional analytics
  • Clear understanding of data platforms, ability to translate business and analytics needs into data requirements and work with technical data strategy/IT teams to obtain data needed for analysis
  • Passionate about learning, constantly seeking to be updated with what’s going on in the digital and marketing analytics environment, familiar with new concepts, technologies, providers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good at developing relationships across diverse teams (including statistical, technical, and marketing resources)
  • Communicate effectively with direct manager, upper management, and clients; synthesizes relevant information on key milestones, success criteria, and risks
  • Ability to display data visually, creating powerful presentations which effectively demonstrate the value of analytic deliverables to client staff including senior leadership
  • Exhibits confidence and command when presenting to all internal and external audiences. Can think on his/her feet.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and innovative

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree (Master’s/PhD) in Statistics, Economics or other quantitative discipline
  • Restaurant industry marketing experience/knowledge
  • Proven experience as a key leader for an external client relationship is preferred but not required
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
  • Hands-on programming experience in SAS, SPSS, or related language
  • Ability to program in newer and emerging languages such as R and Python
  • Large scale marketing databases, data marts, data lakes such as Oracle, Netezza and working knowledge of Hadoop, Amazon Redshift, Google Cloud and other big data technologies
  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem with experience with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics and social analytic tools
  • Experienced with Data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Exposure to a broad set of marketing channel analytics such as CRM, owned, paid and, social
  • Some travel to client sites may be required (5-10%) as travel opens up
