About DMS: The DMS (Digital Media Solutions) team sits within Epsilon, which is part of the Publicis Groupe. We power the data and personalization angle, and to get digital media personalization right, you need to not only identify customers online, but also deliver relevant messages to them, based on their real-time behaviors and preferences. We partner with brands across strategy, campaign setup, creative and measurement. The Creative Manager leads the creative team that comprises Graphic Designers, Art Directors, Copywriters and Video Editors.

Job Description

You will be based out of Bangalore, India, and manage a team of art directors, copywriters and video editors. This role expects you to:

  • Be able to inspire and influence the Creative Team to meet and exceed the expectations of clients and prospects; willing to jump in and get hands dirty as needed.
  • Be responsible for the performance, growth and development of the Creative Team. Includes: hiring/firing, leading direct reports and providing professional development guidance for direct reports and broader team.
  • Collaborate with cross teams in the ideation and deployment of flawless client work.
  • Strategically evaluate projects/campaigns and assess the skills and resources available on the team for assignment.
  • Establish overall design vision, philosophy and process in alignment with peers and Creative Directors in the DMS system.
  • Be adept at crafting Creative Strategy.
  • Develop themes and concepts for high-level projects, both existing and potential clients, as well as internal initiatives.
  • Excel in the ability to craft stories for brands that inspire action from clients and internal teams.
  • Identify and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve desired results.
  • Lead Creative discussions with stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor annual roadmap initiatives, driving resources to highest levels of execution; identifying opportunities for team-level improvement and presenting solutions (people, process, clients, etc.); coordinating cross team (improvement/development).
  • Work with Creative Operations to assess the project queue, address scope creep and point bloat.
  • Be a respected and visible leader within the Creative Team and Launch Teams.
  • Identify and resolve issues across teams (within launch and product teams).
  • Lead communication to the broader team on behalf of Creative Leadership (up and down).
  • Demonstrate excellent emotional intelligence in dealing with others.
  • Make a positive difference in the team’s client work, initiatives and the Creative and Launch Teams.
  • Support the Creative Director in driving the overall and team vision, talent acquisition and retention and opportunities for innovation.
  • Master leadership of people (balance resources, visibly elevate innovative, flawless design, encourage growth and high performance, delegate work, set and enforce deadlines).
  • Actively participate and lead meetings.
  • Be able to demonstrate outstanding personal time-management skills.
  • Stay current with the latest emerging technologies and find ways to move these functions into DMS offerings.
  • Be ready to travel. There are no plans in the foreseeable future, given the current situation though.

Qualifications

  • An impressive portfolio of work.
  • A design school degree, preferably in digital design or communication design.
  • 12 - 16 years of work experience. A good chunk (if not all of it) should be art direction and digital media.
  • 5+ years experience leading a Creative Team.
  • Exceptional understanding of the graphic and functional aspects of design and hands-on ability to execute.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Experience managing to revenue goals and client expectations.
  • Proven adaptability and flexibility.
  • Strong people leadership background. Ability to identify growth and development opportunities within the creative team to architect future success. Ability to work successfully with and influence cross teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both internal and external, including conflict management.
  • Strong management and mentoring experience to oversee a team.
