Job Description

The Business Affairs team works closely with all the teams within the agency to ensure proper rights are secured for all third party assets, including but not limited to all talent, music, footage, artwork, property, trademarks, and logos. They are involved in the early stages of creative development to review any rights issues, seek out permissions, get quotes, and provide talent production and residuals estimates. Their involvement continues throughout the life of the commercial, to ensure prompt talent residuals are processed, track expirations, manage residuals budgets, and negotiate extensions upon expiration if needed. In addition to agency teams, the Business Affairs Manager will have occasion to engage with clients and third-party vendors such as Extreme Reach for talent payment processing, music licensors, talent agents, and other third party rights holders.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a senior-level Business Affairs Manager with 8-10 + years of experience, including extensive knowledge of the various talent collective bargaining agreements and experience with music licensing, celebrity and social influencer contracts, and negotiations.

 

 Skills needed:

Strong analytical and communication skills are a must, including experience with contract language and negotiations. 

The candidate should have extensive working knowledge of the SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract, including the 2019 Alternate Compensation Structures and Digital and Social Waivers, as well as working knowledge of other union contracts including the SAG-AFTRA Non-Broadcast Industrials Contract, ACTRA, and UDA Commercials Contracts for Canadian talent and AFM Musician Commercials Contract.

The candidate should have strong math skills and be comfortable working in Excel.

A self-starter, who is highly motivated, adept at multitasking, and comfortable working independently as well as within a team.

Automotive advertising experience is a plus.
