Duties: Develop, create, and modify general computer applications. Perform analysis and design new and enhanced software features; develop solutions with Oracle databases, PL/SQL, MS SQL Server and Unix environment and perform Unix shell scripting; develop work on ETL tools; design and implement software solutions that are reliable, scalable and perform at a high-level perform impact analysis and root cause analysis; evaluate user request for new or modified programs, to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities; gather requirements from the business users, prepare the program specification and design documents required for development; provide assistance to the production support team for troubleshooting issues; develop technical documentation to define the system components, development environment and implementation planning/strategies; collaborate with QA team to define test cases, metrics, and resolve questions about test results; conduct trial runs of programs and software applications; conduct performance tuning, application monitoring and support of production applications with distributed teams.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following:
1) Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and software application tuning;
2) Unix Shell Scripting;
3) Oracle database(9i,10g,11g);
5) MS Sql Server;
12) Experience in performance tuning and query optimization techniques; and
13) Experience with data structures and algorithms.
Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
