Job Description

Agency Operations

  • Finances: Develops SOWs and budgets based on knowledge of internal/external processes to complete deliverables, tactical recommendations, and overall account finances; monitors budgets on a weekly basis; analyzes budget and tactics to identify opportunities for budget/tactical revisions; presents recommendations to Account Supervisor
  • Trouble shoot: Solution oriented. Brings problems with potential solutions to the attention of management; makes recommendations on how to overcome obstacles or ways to present to client 
  • Management: Oversee the activity of and work closely with the Project Coordinator or Senior Project Coordinator to ensure quality of work and support their growth

Knowledge

  • Baseline understanding of the therapeutic category, the audience and related advocacy issues
  • Proficient in project management; well-versed in execution needs for a wide range of tactics
  • Regularly demonstrates critical thinking skills; beginning to develop strategic problem-solving skills
  • Continuously learning technology and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies including internal and external programs
  • Advocate and champion of agency processes

 

Strategy

  • Planning: Basic knowledge of marketplace and advocacy landscape to help inform and guide client, as well as understand implications on tactics is a plus
  • Collaboration: Keeps team and client informed of changes. Communicates clearly and frequently.

 

Tactics and Execution

  • Manages execution of project-based advocacy tactics independently
  • Manages and identifies changes in scope; proactively identifies opportunities to adjust for efficiencies
  • Project risk: Identifies and monitors project risks; develops and implements mitigation plans
  • Develops strong and positive working relationships with internal and external (client) teams
  • Provides accurate and realistic cost-to-complete estimates and forecasts for assigned projects using knowledge of account
  • Promotes and contributes to business unit’s culture and environment
  • Assists in onboarding new team members
  • Responsible for overseeing and reviewing all project-related tasks completed by Project Coordinator or Senior Project Coordinator throughout project life-cycle
  • Cross functional teams: oversees creative brief development and relationships with cross functional teams; comfortable routing projects through an agency
  • Process: comfortable learning, implementing, and managing internal and external processes

Client & Advocacy Stakeholder Relationships

  • Direct client and advocacy stakeholder communication from a project level
  • Frequent, positive contact with key clients via phone and email; liaison between client and community to support project execution

Qualifications

Requirements

o    Ability to deal with ambiguity, often executing projects with no previous timelines or examples, and ensuring a successful outcome

o    Writing skills for a variety of different audiences and content that ranges from creative/project briefs and professional correspondence

o    Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

o    Exhibits Integrity and Trust

o    Exhibits Self Development; is a self-starter and comfortable working independently

o    Occasional travel required (>10%)

Education and Experience

o    2 years of project management experience required

o    Direct client management/communications experience required

o    Bachelor’s degree required

o    Demonstrates progression in level of responsibility within a professional project or account management environment

o    Experience in advocacy or healthcare communications environment preferred

o    Advocacy and policy experience is a plus
