Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a senior planner you will be expected to be the lead planner on a series of agency accounts. You will be line managed by the chief strategy officer but will be expected to work well across the planning team and across a range of accounts. You will be confident in interacting with senior clients, and be looking to build relationships with the client teams to be an essential part of their business.

 

Strategic / Brand / Creative Capability

·       Excellence in constructing growth driving simple strategic plans that are proven to win and grow business

·       Excellence in the core capabilities of account planning – fundamental planning techniques, types of strategy, generating insight and tactical planning

·       Proven success in writing pitch winning strategy and growing business

·       Has led the planning on a core piece of business, is able to hold the core strategic direction of a brand and business in mind when making decisions

·       Can discuss brand strategy at a high level with senior clients, challenges and supports client decision making based on a deep understanding of the business and brand strategy

·       Understands how brands grow, and the different tactics used to drive growth

·       Proven experience in positioning a brand, building brand values and identity

·       Experience in working with clients to build strategic, evidence-based brand plans and go-to-market plans that drive business growth

·       Produces compelling and inspiring insights and briefs, keeps the creative process on brief, adding value at every stage and takes the client stakeholders along the briefing and creative journey

·       Leads the creative validation and concept testing process

 

Communications Planning and Analytics

·       Constructs a customer journey tactical plan across multi-media - understands differing roles of each touchpoint from print to social

·       Expert in access and use of available resources, understands how to set up the research process for any pitch and has database of insight sources

·       Manages research and insight design, translates data into compelling insight with robust experience in both quality and quantity methodologies

·       Cross tabulates all research and market analysis to formulate objectives

·       Keeps track of client and competitor market share, shareholder reports and movements in the capital markets

·       You’ll be responsible for monitoring client and competitor activity, keeping on top of market trends, M&A, new product launches, market and brand growth statistics and market financial reports

 

Presentation Skills

·       Confident presentation skills, confident in leading client meetings, has a range of meeting tools to hand to unlock issues and add value

·       Solid experience in constructing and running excellent workshops from large to small client teams, particularly brand and communication planning sessions

·       Excellence in PowerPoint, and visualisation of concepts and data - can bring to life a compelling strategic story on screen

·       Supports the account, creative and planning team in the creative process

·       Develops and mentors juniors in the team, works well with peers irrespective of seniority

·       Understands and can confidently sell the planning tools, processes, steps and methods of the agency both internally and externally

·       You’ll be keen to bring new ideas and fresh ways of working into the team

·       Flexible thinking, happy to challenge and be challenged and works well with others to build powerful brand strategies that grow business

·       Build client trust and becomes an essential member of the client team

 

Client Relations / Communication Skills

·       You’ll support the account and planning team in maintaining harmonious client relationships and communicate confidently with your client counterparts

·       You’ll convey credibility and maintain a positive professional image – both internally and externally

·       You’ll support the account and creative team in handling client strategic objections and questions, understanding all sides of the discussion, and come to the best decision for the brand

·       You’ll demonstrate solid writing ability, and understand the value in accurate and well-crafted presentations and proposals

·       You’ll demonstrate influence and diplomacy in written and verbal presentations – both internally and externally facing

 

Financial Acumen

·       You’ll assist the account team in building accurate scopes of work

·       You’ll complete your timesheets daily – and accurately

·       You’ll complete expense forms in a timely fashion

Qualifications

·       You will have mastered the art of crafting powerful, simple, business building strategy

·       You will be naturally curious, keen to learn and a positive, proactive voice in the planning team

·       You will add value within the agency and across the Publicis Health Group, add credibility to planning and strategy through fresh ideas and clarity of thought

·       You will be confident to challenge ideas, bringing new perspectives to every problem and brief

·       You must have a highly disciplined thinking process, be comfortable working both in structure and process and in the grey areas and uncertainty

·       You will be familiar with the creative process and must be able to articulate how are why creative is on or off strategy and create a compelling argument for selling ideas

·       You must have an interest in working within healthcare - we’ll expect to see genuine enthusiasm for what we do here

·       You will have exceptional strong verbal and written communication skills and be seen as a logical, confident ‘voice’ to clients and internal stakeholders alike

·       You should have strong attention to detail and exemplary visual, verbal, written and numeracy skills

·       You’ll be a self-starter, natural problem solver, highly motivated person who never has to be told anything twice

·       You’ll hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
