WHAT YOU WILL DO

This is an opportunity to join Publicis Health as a senior finance manager. You’ll be working directly with our key senior managers within our UK agencies and working directly on-site within the agencies, based in Baker Street and travelling to Windsor from time-to-time. The main purpose of this role will be to provide senior-level financial and operational support to the finance leads at Publicis Health and, for ad hoc requests, to the group chief finance officer. You will be responsible for the group financial reporting requirements, for maintaining the full financial integrity of the accounting ledgers, ensuring that all financial information (P&L and balance sheets) are accurately reported to the finance director and for maintaining a strong internal control environment across financial operations.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a self-starter and someone who’s used to working in an autonomous style.  You must be able to work independently and still collaborate internally at the highest levels and relevant experience within a similar level role is essential. You’ll have a varied role which will involve managing multiple stakeholders and working closely with the associate finance director, controllers and the finance director as well as general managers at all times. Therefore you’ll need to be proactive, think about future needs and stay one step ahead.  

 

Financial Expertise

·       Manages (for all of Publicis Health UK) the full month-end process and reporting cycles - including forecasts

·       Produces budgetary information, including revenue across all agencies, for review and discussion before submission

·       Ensures accurate and timely reporting and enhance the quality of financial and management information

·       Manages activities of the management accounting finance team including training and development and motivating the team

·       Ability to identify potential problems in existing environments and provide solutions before they manifest themselves in material financial results

·       Ability to improve the finance process and take the necessary actions

·       Guides your finance team in selectively gathering relevant financial information to analyse financial results

·       Knowledge of regulatory environment and industry to develop and evaluate agency financial processes and controls

·       Works with auditors - gathering and providing necessary information

Project Management and Resilience

·       Comprehends issues relative to processes and rules and adapts for appropriate end result

·       Awareness of the broader environment when making decisions

 

Other Duties

·       HFM entry, local P&L and BS package preparation, monthly reports to corporate (MD&A, TWC and Flash) and monthly balance sheet review

·       A key contact for Internal audit

·       FMC checklists and balance sheet analysis

·       Prepare ad hoc agency presentations

·       Vendor contract review

·       Tracking of A/R, Accrued revenue and WIP balances (i.e. suggest balances that can be written off against reserves, and reserves that can be reversed)

·       Inputting into the management pack for general managers and managing directors for internal review

·       Ensure Janus (corporate policies) is adhered to

·       Support on ad hoc requests on MSA’s and rate cards

·       Management of annual CSR report

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE

·       You’ll have prior experience in a similar level position, operating at a finance manager, senior finance manager or financial controller level with people management experience

·       You are a result driven, proactive and highly organised self-starter

·       We are ideally looking for experience of working within a marketing / advertising / creative agency or similar industry

·       You will need to be fully ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified

·       You should hold a degree-level qualification from an accredited college or university, ideally within finance or accounting

·       You’ll be personable, well-spoken, engaging and have the ability to develop internal relationships and present with a powerful, pursuasive style

·       You should be able to demonstrate grace when working under pressure or to tight deadlines

·       You should have demonstrable experience of flexibility when working across multiple business units

·       You should be able to travel within the EU and globally as required
