Job Description

Our team is looking for a Lead frontend engineer who has strong experience in various frontend frameworks and develops software with a focus on design to evolve our product and build the next generation of technology. Your primary focus will be setting standards and ensuring a consistent approach to frontend development across all of our products by overseeing the build out of a reusable component library. In an Agile setting you will collaborate closely with the UX/Product Design team to ensure their designs are developed to spec. Therefore a commitment to collaborative, creative problem solving and open communication is extremely important to us. 

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Managing a team of 1-2 frontend engineers in an Agile environment, ~90% of your day-to-day will be hands on development
  • Implement frontend development standards across our suite of products
  • Build and oversee the development of reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Collaborate with UX/Product Design to streamline the delivery of wireframes that produce code
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 4+ years developing production applications, mostly using React-Redux
  • 6+ years coding Javascript, HTML, CSS3
  • Strong proficiency in newer specifications of Javascript (ES6, ES7, ES8)
  • Comfort with various frontend frameworks such as React (preferred), Angular, or Ember
  • Intermediate understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS
  • Comfort working with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with common frontend development tools such as NPM, Babel and Webpack
  • Thorough understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, promises and AJAX
  • Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Comfort working with source control and GIT
  • GraphQL a plus
  • Familiarity with C#/.NET
