Job Description

The Director, Marketing is tasked with taking the vision for Publicis Commerce to market.

The target audience for the marketing efforts are:

Internal Stakeholders – agency and client leads
The objective is to provide clarity on the offering & direct them to resource centers for material and support

External stakeholders – clients and press
The objective is to share key priorities & develop a strong point of view on the state of the industry and where it is headed

General Public – events, social & web
The objective is to keep the practice visible, while engaging proactively and re-actively to those interested in learning more

The Director, Marketing will work with the Global Product Lead to set the strategy for the practice’s communication & progression, and see it through in execution. They will develop relationships with internal & external leaders and manage a calendar of events and opportunities to drive the Publicis Commerce proposition. The Director will manage multiple stakeholders and markets, so strong project management skills are crucial. This is a key role and requires the ability to work in both startup-like environments as well as a large, matrixed organization.


Scope of work

Key tasks
•    Co-develop the practice’s global product and solutions marketing strategy, holistically and by market 
•    Build relationships with key Groupe leadership across brands and clients, serving as a solution provider and proactive support to capture opportunities as they arise
•    Serve as a go-to resource for practice information, solutions and participation
•    Working with the Groupes’ Communications team and interact with industry press and strategic partners to shape and deploy the commerce practice’s narrative, in support of other efforts being made by the practice leadership or the Groupe at large
•    Develop & be accountable for the Commerce practice’s website & social presence 
•    Develop marketing material for the practice, shaped to each target market
•    Share practice materials regularly within the practice and to key stakeholders
•    Actively seek out opportunities for the practice to gain exposure, commercial opportunity, and/or strategic benefit

Qualifications

The role requires 7+ years of experience in B2B and/or product marketing; experience working for a tech company is a big plus. Considering the small size of the core practice team, an entrepreneurial spirit and problem-solving mentality will help a candidate set themselves apart. 

Key skills
•    The candidate needs to be a strategic thinker and driven to reach objectives, with the ability to flex and pivot as needed
•    Prior experience dealing with internal marketing and marketing of a service/tech product is preferable
•    Strong analytical and project management skills are a must
•    Ability to conceptualize and develop sharp points of view on behalf of the practice
•    Operational/functional understanding of e-commerce and digital
•    Demonstrated integrity, maturity, and a constructive approach to challenges
•    Organized with strong multitasking and time-management skills
•    Independent worker and process-oriented with strong work ethic
•    The ability to operate as an independent contributor, handling execution as well as strategy, while championing the product and service to senior-level stakeholders
