Job Description

Overview:
Negotiate, purchase, maintain, and steward Publishing (Print + Digital) media buys

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, train and mentor Assistant Negotiators
  • Mentor media fellows within the group
  • Negotiate and purchase print activity and applicable extensions 
  • Maintain current knowledge of marketplace conditions through meetings with consumer and trade publications
  • Steward print positioning adhering to each client’s buying guidelines
  • Negotiate and help execute of added value opportunities
  • Maintain confirmation of purchase, schedules, budgets, and reconciliation of publisher billing
  • Secure makegoods for missed insertions/positioning issues, etc.
  • Create and maintain positioning reports on quarterly basis
  • Develop and maintain AdMeasure Engagement analysis
  • Meet all due dates for buys, post analyses, and assigned projects; help team set up project deadlines to achieve all timelines
  • Communicate regularly with salespeople and negotiate to maintain or improve the integrity of the buys as they are stewarded
  • Advise supervisors of marketplace conditions, special opportunities, and potential issues
  • Assist in development of competitive reviews/positioning rotations

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of experience working at a media agency, negotiating Print or print related content deals
  • Strong negotiating and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical skills required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Experience with Media Ocean (MBOX), GfK MRI AdMeasure, CrossTab, RandF, SRD, AAM BrandView
