Job Description

Overview:

The Traffic Supervisor is responsible for training and developing individuals in the use of appropriate media systems and relative processes in Broadcast Traffic while pursuing company and client goals.  This includes the ability to work on high profile client business while successfully executing agency media buys in a timely manner. They are masters in the use of current media systems and have complete understanding of overall processes, policies, and procedures relative to Broadcast Traffic. This individual reports to the Associate Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing 2-4 Traffic Associates which includes conducting annual and mid-year Performance Reviews, identifying individuals’ goals, and work with their Associate Director during situations where disciplinary or developmental action is necessary
  • Works closely with all assigned Traffic Associates on their respective teams to evaluate productivity levels and implement best practices based on client needs
  • Proactively solves problems and improves efficiencies as needed
  • Works with his/her Associate Director, interprets, coordinates and integrates, as necessary, all assigned media/traffic activities based on client needs, urgency, and /or volume of work
  • Maintains positive relationships with clients and vendors
  • Maintains level of accountability for decision making and use of written, verbal, and professional communications by his/her direct reports.
  • Reviews work (as necessary) produced by Traffic Associates prior to final execution.
  • Must be available to respond to urgent issues after close of business.
  • Arrange adequate and appropriate coverage within team when out of office – including Holidays – work with Associate Director as needed.
  • Maintains familiarity with current industry standards and remains alert to new developments that may or may not impact operational practices
  • Remains positive and is open to questions and assistance required by Traffic Associates/Coordinators.

 

Qualifications

  • College educated preferred, but not required
  • 5-10 years previous experience as Traffic Associate or similar
  • Previous supervisory experience 
  • Must have consistent performance ratings at or above target
  • Must exude professional attitude
  • Experience with Media Ocean
  • Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
