Job Description

What is the Future Leaders Program?  The Future Leaders Program is a 2-day, intense look at media career opportunities, designed primarily for minority students in their final year of college. Students are immersed in media training and case studies to experience the life of a media associate. During the program they will interact with key executives and line managers and gained insight into typical media projects and scenarios.  The activities conclude with fulltime interviews and consideration for placement upon graduation.

What is the purpose of this program?

This program offers students who have an interest in a media career the opportunity to gain a greater understanding and insight into the day-to-day activities and career paths of media professionals. It also allows students to experience and explore Chicago.  Furthermore, we will be providing up to $500 for travel and accommodation to participate in this program.

How many participants are selected to participate in this program?

Although the number of participants will vary each year, we are targeting 20 candidates for 2020.

What are the program dates and where is the program located?

The program will take place at Starcom’s global headquarters in downtown Chicago, IL at

35 West Wacker Drive on Thursday, February 20th- Friday, February 21st, 2020.

Who qualifies for the program?

Future Leaders program is primarily intended for minority students.  You may apply to the program if you meet the following:

  • GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale
  • You must have the permanent, unrestricted right to work in the US
  • In the final year of college in pursuit of bachelors degree or higher
  • Interested in pursing a full time employment opportunity in Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Detroit, MI and/or Los Angeles, CA upon graduation

How are applicants selected?

If the candidate does well on the phone interview, their resume and application will be assessed by a designated selection committee.  Decisions are based upon:

·         Demonstrated Leadership

·         Academic Achievement

·         Extracurricular activities

·         Work experience

Application / Essay Review

Candidates will be contacted post review of application by January 2020.

If a candidate applies to the Future Leaders Program and is not selected, can he/she still be considered for entry-level opportunities?

Candidates that successfully pass the online assessment and phone screen, but are not selected for

the Future Leaders Program based on capacity, may be considered for future entry-level  opportunities. Applicable candidates will be contacted in early 2020.
