Job Description

The role of Publicis Media’s Data Sciences Consulting capability is to provide data and technology solutions for Publicis Media agencies as well as management, deployment and ongoing support of our proprietary end-to-end media planning, activation, and measurement platform to a global roster of market-leading clients. Publicis Media Data Sciences practice enables Publicis Media agency teams to perform all of the tasks involved with designing complex media plans, activating those plans across multiple channels and markets, and then measuring and analyzing the performance of all business activities.  The Data Sciences Consulting team partners with global account teams and clients to understand their planning, activation, and measurement needs, data and technology environments, and then leads the implementation and configuration of the internal platforms and/or other solutions to meet those needs. 

Position Overview 

The VP of Data Sciences Consulting is responsible for managing a portfolio of agency relationships and platform deployments within the group.  The role is responsible for scoping project work, defining the project approach, managing the project team, and managing project deliverables. The role serves as the primary point of contact for agency teams and acts as their “Data Sciences Ambassador” for solutions and capabilities as well as the primary advocate for those agency teams within Data Sciences.  The VP of Data Sciences Consulting also identifies high-level requirements and feeds those requirements to the appropriate Data Sciences teams and Product Manager(s) for further refinement and prioritization against product and resource backlogs.  The role collaborates closely with the Platform Delivery team to manage initial client deployments and provides ongoing support to agency teams and their use of the platform; they support new additions and changes to the platform desired by the agency team and/or end client; and they also serve as product functionality experts that agency teams can reach out to for education and counsel. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the scoping (resources, requirements, deliverables, timing) of platform deployments 
  • Manage the development of the project approach/plan and ongoing status updates 
  • Manage the development of high-level business and functional requirements and liaise with Product Managers for further refinement of those requirements 
  • Manage the data strategy and data integrations required for each platform deployment 
  • Serve as Project Manager/Leader throughout all phases of the process (from scoping through delivery and ongoing feature updates) 
  • Serve as main point of contact for Agency leaders on projects 
  • Lead discussions with third party vendors, data source providers, etc. when required to fulfill on scope of projects 
  • Develop and provide education about deployment best practices to Agency teams 
  • Develop and document artifacts (templates, guides, etc.) that help formalize deployment practices 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 8 - 12 years of related work experience with 3+ years of managerial experience preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of Advertising/Media planning and buying processes with particular emphasis on Digital Media and overall Media Operations 
  • Strong knowledge of Marketing/Media reporting and associated KPIs, data sources, tools, and data processing requirements     
  • Ability to work and manage projects independently
  • Experience/Comfort being part of a small/specialized capability and working to build strong relationships with fellow employees from other capabilities within that region 
  • Experience managing projects of 3+ months in duration and with project teams consisting of 5+ individuals 
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements in support of a project 
  • Experience working with teams comprised of a variety of skills (media experience, analytics experience, technology experience, database experience, business analysis experience, project management experience) 
  • Strong preference for individuals who have Media Performance Reporting experience and/or Business Analysis (Business Analyst/System Analyst) experience and/or Technology Project Management experience
