Job Description

As the Media Director, Digital Strategy and Innovation your day to day focus will be researching, brainstorming, and innovating new ways for the client to leverage digital media to drive their business forward.  Furthermore, the Media Director oversees the team's digital strategy initiatives and will focus on servicing a high profile, digital-first client in the credit/financial space with the creation, execution and monitoring of dynamic media strategies to secure the best investment options to maximize clients’ reach to targeted consumers.  The ideal candidate for this position will be a natural thought leader, an enthusiastic digital media expert, and someone who is ready to innovate. 

Must haves include:  a minimum of 7 years of comprehensive media experience with a focus on multiple digital channels including: social, programmatic, online video and audio, and display.  Other must-haves include the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.  This is an energetic, supportive and collaborative team that manages a dynamic account that rewards out-of-the-box thinking.

  • Drive Experience Design (inclusive of Communications Planning) as related to all facets of digital media. Takes part in overseeing aspects of the U.S. Strategy/Media Planning team.
  • Research digital media trends and make innovative, cutting edge recommendations within the digital space. 
  • Exemplify Experience Design, bringing concepts to life throughout all communications planning that is driven by data, consumer insights and technology
  • Act as strategic navigator for team by leading the thinking to inspire innovative solutions, creativity and a proactive approach
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence/Analytics, data and investment teams to identify consumer learning needs and drive consumer insight generation, analysis/interpretation
  • Lead team in development of brand communications planning strategy and master plan, defining the strategic role of each connection point based on business and consumer insights
  • Ensure the team delivers sound strategic media/communication recommendations based on a clear articulation of Brand objectives
  • Partner with Business Intelligences/Analytics Development to identify and recommend proprietary research studies, continuing to gain stronger consumer data particularly in area of receptivity & behavior
  • Ensure that client relationships continue to be strengthened by quality of deliverables and client satisfaction with the work
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Brand business (current and historical perspectives) with a focus on upstream initiatives
  • Actively listen to clients and continually identify opportunities to lead the thinking
  • Be recognized as a communications and industry expert with Brand teams
  • Expert command of media research resources, capabilities and limitations
  • Understand and deliver against key success metrics throughout communications development (ROI, etc.)
  • Provide vision, direction, management and support to individuals within the group.  Continually articulate company and group mission as well as group goals and individual goals.  Consistently communicate with individuals to ensure people and their work aligned with group mission and goals.
  • Exercise broad-based organizational leadership
  • Exemplify collaboration by building and maintaining productive relationships across all communications areas (investment teams, Brand, multi-functional teams, agency partners, media vendors – as appropriate) as well as manage the senior relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • 7+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in marketing, communications and/or media planning and management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing and communications
  • Demonstrated track record of thought leadership, innovation and/or change management
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Authoritative, leadership presence
  • Ability to prioritize and organize issues/projects for self and staff
  • Excellent understanding of media / communication fundamentals and research
