Job Description

Overview:

The Associate Media Director, under the guidance of senior agency management, is responsible for developing media plans in alignment with the objectives and strategies of all clients, overseeing the implementation of media plans and providing buy stewardship based on data-driven decisions through results analysis and campaign trending. The Associate Media Director manages junior staff, ensuring their development, accuracy of their work and that all deadlines are met. The Associate Media Director serves as a primary contact and source of key information for clients, partner agencies, vendors and internal departments.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, have a direct response media background, and the ability to handle the day-to-day tasks associated with the management of high profile accounts. S/he must also be able to perform media buying functions including Cable, Spot and Syndication. S/he will possess a strong drive to be proactive, bring their own informed point of view and strive to deliver the highest quality of work in the most efficient way possible. Should have experience managing staff and maintain strong relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with VP, Director or other agency senior management to provide entire suite of media services to various assigned advertisers/agency partners:
    • Building and implementing media buys
    • Assessing media and ROI performance
    • Managing account billings and budgets
    • Interact with partners as company representative
  • Work with junior staff in:
    • Building and implementing media buys
    • Assessing media and ROI performance
  • Work with members of affiliated agencies associated with client’s business
  • Up to date on all current programming, trends and specific marketplace conditions so as to be able to form recommendations on a timely basis
  • Interact with buying/planning groups in monitoring and producing weekly performance reports
  • Maintain and produce required media results and management reports
  • Manage and maintain all files and records pertaining to client’s activities and billings
  • Ensure all client deliverables are being met (timelines, goals, budgets, etc.)
  • Interact and build strong relationships with vendors in the planning, negotiating and implementation of plans as needed. 
  • Generate and handle administrative functions associated with the ordering and managing of a TV schedule

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in either direct response media buying or direct response account management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills with great attention to detail
  • Experience in DRTV buying functions
  • Direct client contact experience required
