Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be the scientific guru of the agency – the go to person for all scientific and medical queries
  • You will work with other creatives to develop concepts and solutions that respond to a variety of client briefs
  • Responsibility of the day-to-day delivery of scientific content, ensuring quality, scientific accuracy and timely execution
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of assigned therapeutic areas and understand the commercial environment within which clients are working
  • Have a good understanding of relevant codes of practice and ensure all content is compliant
  • Provide research and editorial support for pitch development and other new business
  • initiatives as needed
  • Responsible for fact and reference checking of work

  • Therapeutic Knowledge and Skills
  • Able to assimilate relevant information and quickly gain in-depth understanding of new therapeutic areas to apply to written materials
  • Effectively analyse and interpret scientific data 

Writing Ability

  • Shows an aptitude for structuring and writing projects based on a thorough brief
  • Able to craft promotional content and formulate a compelling narrative from complex information
  • Able to adapt writing style to suit different audiences (such as GPs, nurses, patients) with minimal supervision
  • Confident leading interactions with clients regarding content development and finalisation
  • Adept at finding visually compelling ways to present complex information
     

Reviewing Ability

  • Exquisite attention to detail
  • Able to appropriately review and copy-edit projects typically encountered in line of work, in alignment with project brief
  • Able to proofread, accurately data check and prepare reference packs
  • Provide scientific and editorial feedback regarding material development to peers in support of client goals

 

Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrates knowledge of good practice/industry guidelines
  • Demonstrates strong organisational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Reliably executes client and account team requirements, adapts to meet changing needs, and takes ownership for delivering results


Account Services/ Budgeting Activity/Project Management

  • Able to build strong relationships with clients
  • Adheres to project parameters including deadlines, budget, and content limitations
  • Participates in meetings and strategic discussions with clients and colleagues
  • Provides a proactive, solution-focused approach towards defining client brief and expectations, resolving queries and addressing feedback
  • Participates in the tracking of project deliverables, identifying impact of out of scope changes
  • Initiates discussions with account teams regarding potential barriers to successful project completion that may arise


Strategic Planning

  • Inputs into the development of strategy for assigned brands and participates in brainstorm meetings and proposal development
  • Able to assimilate commercial information for assigned therapeutic areas
  • Has a firm appreciation of commercial context
  • Aware of the strategic objectives for the brands to which assigned and applies these effectively in written work

WHO YOU ARE

  • A background in life-sciences and healthcare communications with an interest in advertising
  • Experience of working within a team environment and building strong inter-team relationships
  • Able to translate complex science into easy to understand terms
  • Able to present your work and ideas clearly and with an engaging approach to clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Able to work across a range of accounts and be comfortable in gaining experience of multiple therapy areas
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating professionalism and understanding at all times

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ agency experience
  • Previous clinical, writing, publishing and/or pharmaceutical experience

Preferred Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science (at least 2:1) required
  • Post-graduate degree preferre
