Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an account manager you will be working within the client services team in our Baker Street offices. You will be working in a close-knit team where you will contribute to the strategic planning on the account, the day-to-day management of more junior team members and work alongside our editorial team.

Specific Job Criteria:

Brand/Market/Agency Knowledge

  • Demonstrates and applies brand and therapy area knowledge to assigned brands and projects.
  • Ensures project teams adhere to agency and client processes. Identifies any issues and assists with problem resolution.
  • Contributes and oversees the development, management and logistics and content of a range of medical education projects.
  • Develops and applies their knowledge of healthcare markets and regulations.

 
Client Relations/Communication Skills

  • Ensures timely, accurate client documentation and correspondence.
  • Communicates clearly and frequently with the client and keeps senior management briefed on account activities.
  • Manages client expectations.

Strategic and Tactical Planning

  • Responsible for the delivery of tactics to pre-agreed timelines on the brand throughout the year.
  • Has the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and identify key issues while driving the delivery process.
  • Assists the senior management team with developing communication objectives and strategies e.g. marketing/brand platform briefs.
  • Shows thoroughness in developing tactical plans including budgets and timelines.
  • Evaluates content/project vs brief.

Financial Acumen

  • Owns the daily finances on the account: monitors and manages job activity and costs to ensure budgets are respected. Revises estimates as needed and ensures that all billing is done accurately and promptly.
  • Keeps accurate record of time spent on client work via timesheets and attains client percentage billable target and knows the details of overages by job.
  • Assists the wider team with monthly forecast updates.

Interpersonal/Leadership Skills

  • Conveys credibility and maintains a positive, professional image - both internally and externally.
  • Supports senior managers to lead project teams of moderate complexity.
  • Helps senior managers to solve client issues.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience of working within medical education, ideally in an agency comparable to Real Science at an experienced senior account executive or account manager level.
  • A solid background within account management focussing on healthcare clients and be adept at running medical education projects from inception through to completion.
  • Be comfortable being the main point of contact for your clients – and able to present clearly and with an engaging approach.
  • Ideally you should hold a degree within the life sciences.
  • Experience of managing junior account handlers is important.
