Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Are you up for a challenge? We are looking for someone who thinks with their heart AND their head. Someone who is passionate about PR and someone who is committed to doing the right thing by the clients, brands and companies.

We want an Account Manager to join our brilliant team. You will be developing strong writing skills to successfully navigate the delicate art of delivering a compelling story whilst reflecting the client ask, vision and strategy. You will also be an accomplished project manager who enjoys the satisfaction of driving projects forward, whilst ensuring they remain on time and budget and all stakeholders are kept happy.

Your responsibilities include the running of projects or programmes within accounts on time and to high standards, whilst also managing account executives to complete work efficiently and within budget. You will have some experience of financial management and be ready to take on a larger role overseeing your accounts’ finances to support your Account Directors.

We don’t know where you are currently, maybe you are a confident senior account executive or a new account manager, but you want a fresh challenge working with a dynamic team.  We want someone who wants to do the best work of their career with us, who is not satisfied with OK and wants to change how we all look at the healthcare world. Experience is important but attitude is everything.

Critical Job Criteria:

Brand/Market/Agency Knowledge

  • Demonstrates and applies extensive and expert knowledge of assigned brands
  • Actively recommends and implements strategic and non-traditional solutions to process problems
  • Demonstrates ability to think proactively about brand strategy and lifecycle management
  • Ensures team adherence to agency process. Identifies issues and leads problem resolution
  • Contributes to, and oversees development, management and logistics of a range of medical education projects
  • Develops and applies knowledge of therapy areas, healthcare markets and regulations

Client Relations/Communication Skills

  • Communicates clearly and frequently with client counterpart(s)
  • Handles client objections well and defends agency position
  • Presents complex data or messages in clear, succinct, compelling manner to client
  • Ensures timely, accurate client documentation and correspondence
  • Demonstrates compelling presentation skills
  • Keeps account directors briefed on project/account activities

Strategic and Tactical

  • Assists with developing communication objectives (e.g. marketing/ brand platform briefs)
  • Shows resourcefulness and thoroughness in developing tactical plans (including budgets and timelines)
  • Evaluates content/project vs. brief
  • Responsible for tactics/timelines on brand throughout the year

Financial Acumen

  • Owns the daily finances on the account:  monitors and manages job activity and costs to ensure budgets are respected; promptly revises estimates as needed; ensures that all billing is done accurately and promptly
  • Understands client compensation structure & agency income sources
  • Keeps accurate record of time spent on client work via timesheets and attains client % billable target
  • Knows details on overages by job

Interpersonal/Leadership Skills

  • Conveys credibility and maintains positive, professional image both internally and externally
  • Ability to co-lead project teams of moderate complexity; strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to solve client issues, independently moderate conflicts and influence management decisions
