Job Description

The Project Manager, Data Privacy role is essential in ensuring Publicis Media’s Data Privacy Program succeeds in executing projects that demonstrate the organizations compliance with data privacy regulations.  

The Project Manager is a multi-faceted role with an independent focus on vendor risk management in addition to assisting the greater team in structuring other prioritized projects. This person excels at collaboration and working on complex, cross-functional initiatives and has to be a self-starter and extremely proficient in managing project timelines and effectively engaging stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Ability to manage 4-8 parallel small to medium size projects in a matrixed, multi-discipline environment including:

Vendor Risk Management

  • Support development and maintenance of vendor due diligence process and procedures
  • Establishes communication plan and baseline for roles and responsibilities with a third party
  • Assemble and manage the project timelines identify stakeholders, determine resources needed, and develop a schedule to ensure timely completion of projects focusing on targeted outcomes
  • Analyzes impact on business processes and hand-offs between departments/functions
  • Develop process for monitoring data privacy governance and risk management controls over third party relationships
  • Champion adherence to established vendor management framework and the vendor due diligence process and PM’s vendor management framework
  • Defines and manages an escalation protocol to ensure vendor due diligence

Project Management

  • Define stakeholder communication requirements and develop and deliver communication plans. Ensure a common understanding of project goals by setting and managing expectations.
  • Lead the project estimation process, outline each step, identify stakeholders
  • Facilitate and coordinate work across a globally distributed teams through working directly with data privacy professionals, business leaders etc. to validate scope, estimates, and a project by project management of the teams’ activities   
  • Proactive risk management and responsible for working with project teams and leadership to identify mitigation strategies and escalate issues before project goals (scope, time, quality) can no longer be met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years project management experience
  • Experience creating and managing critical path
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to derive action items and next steps from simple to complex conversations
  • Thrives in an ambiguous and fast pace environment.
  • Must be comfortable working in a distributed functional team with remote management support.
  • Knows how to adjust the methodology to deliver the project(s)
  • Extensive experience with targeted communication on project status and goals with the ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage complex or large scale projects that span over 3- 4 months or have large team sizes in a matrix, multi-discipline environment.
  • Takes responsibility, is proactive, self-starter
  • Able to work with other strong individuals, not afraid to address issues, comfortable speaking with upper management and sometimes executives
  • Well organized, good communicator (written and verbal), articulate
  • Recognized leader that can mentor others but also able to take direction
  • Experienced in leading a project start to finish – planning, kick off, execution through to release management for software, product, or data warehousing project(s).

Experienced preferred but not required:

  • Knowledge of ad tech
  • CIPM certification 
  • PMP, Project Management
  • Bachelor's degree in business or computer science
