Job Description

As DevOps Engineer, you’ll deploy innovative solutions for a variety of projects. You’ll design and build highly dynamic, data-driven internet-based platforms and keep current on the latest developments and trends in internet-based technologies. Day to day, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working on team responsible for setting up our baseline DevOps infrastructure and incorporating that philosophy into development processes
  • Design and implementation of practical, maintainable project solutions utilizing cloud services
  • Identifying appropriate cloud service solutions to support client or product needs
  • Keeping a pulse on evolving AWS cloud services
  • Encouraging team awareness and adoption of relevant emerging technologies
  • Openly and clearly communicating project status, risks and challenges
  • Perform peer-level code reviews
  • Flexible to be pulled into project deliveries requiring either coding or configuration tasks

Qualifications

We’re looking for a talented DevOps Engineer who’s also a delight to work with, which ideally includes:

  • Experienced with AWS cloud services such as IAM, EKS, ECR, Data Pipeline, S3, CloudFormation
  • Proficiency with Ansible and Shell scripting
  • Proficiency in Linux/MacOS environment as development and deployment platform
  • Experience working and setting up containers (e.g. Docker)
  • Experience setting up Jenkins automation pipelines
  • Awareness of security concerns and approaches for both web applications and/or data
  • Willingness to learn new things, technology stacks but balancing that with delivery expectations
  • Experience or willingness to be involved with cloud-based DevOps
  • Experience preferred building and deploying Java and Python applications
  • Experience preferred with working with large data sets or data driven applications
  • Understanding of software engineering methodologies such as object-oriented design and design patterns
  • Good team skills – you’re diplomatic in negotiating and resolving conflicts
  • A four-year degree or 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
