Job Description

What You’ll Do:

The SVP, Strategy will be integral in driving ad/marketing technology and data integration conversations, developing roadmaps and delivering strategies on behalf of our clients in coordination with programmatic activation and operations teams. The SVP will bring deep expertise in the advertising data landscape and will consult with internal teams and clients on audience activation, testing methodologies and frameworks, and audience reporting/insights. Additionally, the SVP, Strategy will play a critical role as the media stakeholder on behalf of the client in projects with consultants and technology partners.

This highly motivated, detail-oriented individual will work with both the client and internal stakeholders to educate them on the myriad uses of strategy and to drive innovation across brand teams. He/she will also generate key insights and audience profiles to align with strategic planning and will also work with 3rd-party data vendors and publishers to maximize the data opportunity for the client and go beyond what is currently available. He/she must be recognized as an expert in media/communications planning with the ability to deliver significant insights to the client's business.  The successful candidate will have a fully-rounded knowledge of the total marketing process and the strategic role of media/communications, a passion for bridging business and marketing priorities, and working with other marketers and clients to drive advertising value.    

  • Act as strategic navigator for team by leading the thinking to inspire innovative solutions, creativity and a proactive approach
  • Drive category-level and brand franchise portfolio management analyses and recommendations
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence/Analytics & Development, DDM(Data Management Platform), Programmatic Teams to identify consumer learning needs and drive consumer insight generation, analysis/ interpretation
  • Lead team in development of brand communications planning strategy and master plan, defining the strategic role of each connection point based on business and consumer insights
  • Oversee U.S. Media team in development of fiscal year media plans, hand-off to investment AORs and other marketing partners, and initiation of media marketing programs
  • Ensure the team delivers sound strategic media/communication recommendations based on a clear understanding of Brand objectives
  • Partner with Business Intelligences/Analytics Development to identify and recommend proprietary research studies for assigned brand(s), continuing to gain stronger consumer data particularly in area of receptivity & behavior
  • Ensure that client relationships continue to be strengthened by quality of deliverables and client satisfaction with the work.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Brand business (current and historical perspectives) with a focus on upstream initiatives
  • Actively listen to clients and continually identify opportunities to lead the thinking
  • Ensure the quality of work for all Brand deliverables
  • Be recognized as a communications and industry expert with Brand teams
  • Develop process improvements and best practices to ensure consistency, flexibility and efficiency resulting in solutions that meet or exceed Brand expectations
  • Work closely with SVP Client Lead/Strategy Director to identify any scope of work issues related to staffing
  • Expert command of media research resources, capabilities and limitations
  • Manage team, working closely with Associate Directors, Supervisors, Planners and Assistants
  • Complete thorough and constructive performance evaluations via PMP for assigned staff members
  • Exemplify collaboration by building and maintaining productive relationships across all communications areas (investment teams, Brand, multi-functional teams, agency partners, media vendors – as appropriate) as well as manage the senior relationships

 

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; MBA a plus
    • Approximately 10-12 years of progressive levels of responsibility in marketing, communications and/or media planning and management experience
    • Thorough knowledge of marketing and communications
    • Demonstrated track record of thought leadership, innovation and/or change management
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
    • Authoritative, leadership presence
    • Ability to prioritize and organize issues/projects for self and staff
    • Excellent understanding of media / communication fundamentals and research
