Job Description

The Manager helps to drive consumer, brand and media insights for a key global client.  This role is an exciting opportunity to work with a group of seasoned media and insights experts, as well as agency teams and clients across the globe.

The Manager uses research and insights to answer key client business questions, build and support global media strategy, and educate and inspire through thought leadership. 

Manage day-to-day research efforts with client facing professionalism

  • Synthesize syndicated data, secondary research, agency and industry knowledge to communicate opportunities, learnings and recommendations with authority and credibility
  • Help answer client questions, create client-ready presentations and present at client meetings
  • Collaborate with internal account team leads; have deep knowledge of client’s business goals and challenges

Utilize business intelligence to strengthen strategic recommendations

  • Deliver category, competitive, and consumer intelligence to inform communication strategy (portfolio as well as business unit level, i.e. smartphones, TVs, home appliances)
  • Coordinate data collection efforts with local markets (developed and emerging) and manage projects from briefing to set up all the way through to client delivery 
  • Build reports, utilizing agency and third-party sources, to better inform clients and internal teams about the current media and marketing landscape

Champion insight generation and audience understanding

  • Understand consumer dynamics and key audiences (e.g. Millennials, Gen Z) and produce actionable insights, implications and client recommendations
  • Develop audience profiles using mix of syndicated and client data and build alignment of target audiences between client segmentation, strategic media targets and addressable targeting 
  • Curate cultural research and trends to educate clients and internal teams through regularly distributed reports and case studies

Drive usage of proprietary and partner tools to enhance knowledge and capability

  • Proactively educate internal and external clients on research, tools and approaches
  • Establish relationships with key research vendors and agency research network
  • Support usage of proprietary agency tools by providing training and case studies to global and local market teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in media/advertising, marketing research, consumer insights, or strategy 
  • Experience with multiple methodological approaches for consumer, brand and media insights
  • Strong knowledge of syndicated and secondary research sources (GWI, MRI, comScore, etc.)
  • Proven aptitude for synthesizing disparate, and potentially complex, research into actionable insights
  • A passion for consumer insights, marketing and media 
  • Knowledge of media concepts, terminology, media math, etc. 
  • Experience with or interest in other cultures preferred  
  • A team player with proven ability to work well with others. Must be resourceful and collaborative.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
