Job Description

The VP, Commerce & Retail Strategy is responsible for leading the Marketplace strategy across all of Performics. The VP is responsible for overseeing the holistic strategy, activation, technology, and partnership development. Additionally, this role will drive innovation across the Commerce and Retail ecosystem. The VP, Commerce will manage and direct Commerce teams across Performics and consult with Commerce and Retail teams across Publicis Media. 

Role Objectives:
•    Lead strategy for key marketplace channels, including by not limited to Amazon, as well as execution and activation.
•    Development of KPIs and measurement strategies within the Commerce and retail ecosystems. 
•    Drive product intelligence for clients across their portfolio including availability, category, and competitive performance, discoverability, and profitability. 
•    Build omni-channel Commerce strategies encompassing the full spectrum of Commerce capabilities. 
•    Provide thought leadership and POV development of the Commerce space including marketplace channels, technology, and innovation.
•    Identify, evaluate, and partner with technology and data solutions for continue growth and sophistication of product, content, category, and competitive intelligence, analytic, product data management, A/B testing, and logistics. 
•    Identify solutions for revenue growth, definition of incrementality, and success within the commerce and retail environments.
•    Participate in new business pitches.
•    Manage vendor partnership and facilitate client meetings. 

Account Management
•    Develops, manages, and monitors client service delivery executions of the assigned accounts.
•    Oversees process development and execution management.
•    Assures quality control of Commerce and Retail campaigns.
•    Enforces Best Practices.
•    Prepares and presents annual financial plans and human resources plans.

Team Leadership & Development
•    Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity.
•    Motivates, leads, and manages internal teams, working collaboratively to drive programs that meet our clients’ performance and business objectives.
•    Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members
•    Conducts performance reviews and career path plans for direct reports
•    Provides training in cross media planning to direct reports and teams.

Process Improvement
•    Facilitates the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group.
•    Partners with the SVP of Commerce Media to educate and deploy the Commerce Media practice across Performics. 

Cross-Selling
•    Understands and explains the features and benefits of all Performics products and services.
•    Exceeds semi-annual and annual revenue targets.
•    Supports business development sales in selling solutions as appropriate.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s Degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred
•    8-10+ years of account management experience in online advertising, direct marketing, or e-commerce; client and agency experience preferred
•    5-7 years of experience working marketplaces, and experience specific with Amazon is a must-have
•    Must have merchandising, product, and promotional knowledge for campaign development
•    Knowledge of Commerce Marketplace technology and data intelligence
•    Deep understanding of key vendors including Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
•    Experience managing an organization
•    High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoint
•    Able to work independently and balance multiple tasks
•    Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Industry (CPG) is preferred

Additional Information

•    Bachelor’s Degree required, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred
•    3+ years of hands-on account management experience in online advertising with a focus on eCommerce
o    In-depth activation and optimization experience with Amazon and Criteo platforms
•    Deep knowledge of ad serving platforms and online analytic solutions
•    1+ years of demonstrated success in managing and leading people
•    Mastery of all relevant tools for reporting, analytics, and competitive analysis
