Job Description

We are looking for an energetic Performance Planning Manager to join one of our highest profile accounts, Aviva. We must help Aviva become a leader in the digital/fin-tech space, by pushing boundaries in what is possible for media/creative executions.

This role is hugely varied and offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to grow and learn, within a friendly and inclusive environment. We are not looking for replication of talent we already have, we are looking for an individual that can bring something different to the team, enabling everybody to raise the bar in unison.

Sitting within the planning team – of 9 planners (1x BD, 3x ADs, 2x AM, 2x SAE, 1x AE), and 20+ activation, strategy & insights specialists) this person will provide a key support function to the client & the activation team by taking responsibility for delivering overarching plans, across performance channels (PPC, Programmatic Display, SEO, Social, Affiliates etc.) advising buyers/the client on strategy and implementing effective campaigns.

Key sectors for them include; insurance, life & health cover, savings and pensions, and in each of these sectors our strategic approach to media requires innovative thinking & execution. Aviva believe heavily in committing to paid advertising in order to achieve their core goals of brand fame & sales. They are based in Shoreditch, and welcome hot-desking in their offices at least once a week.

In the last few years, the industry has become highly competitive, with PCS competing against pure-plays, and more and more focus being placed on effective use of large data depositories. Through the use of an efficient tech stack including Adobe DMP solutions we look to drive efficient standout against the comp-set.

 

Reporting to the Performance Planning Director, the Manager will:

  • Plan performance media to the highest possible standard across PPC, Display, SEO, Social and other performance channels
  • Monitor standard activity and campaigns, and interpret the information
  • Investigate and distribute relevant facts/insights and learnings to the wider internal team and the client
  • Proactively manage the client relationship and ensure needs and requirements are being met
  • Develop a strong relationship with the client team at an appropriate level
  • Manage response to client briefs and provide recommendations with data led rationale to support planning and implementation decision
  • Actively manage client budgets and planning of these budgets at a top line laydown by month and by channel, in line with supplied objectives e.g achieving volume targets
  • Ensure implementation teams are actively developing the account and providing best practise service
  • Ensure proper process being followed in relation to SOX compliance and plan approval/purchase order receipt before campaigns go live and work closely with finance team to minimise issues
  • Internal relationships
  • Develop and manage a relationship with implementation team managers to ensure they are delivering to deadlines and expectations
  • Management of briefs and communicate changes to the clients business objectives and product offering
  • Provide central point of contact between client and implementation team
  • External relationships
  • Develop understand and manage relationships with key media suppliers
  • Arrange regular meetings and work with our partners, and to explore new and different opportunities
  • Team development
  • Responsible for the development of the executive from a performance perspective, ensuring areas for improvement are identified and training provided
  • Regular review of exec performance with the Performance Director
  • Reporting and reviews
  • Manage of the reporting - liaising with implementation teams and dashboard development team to ensure that capability is being evolved
  • Delegate weekly and monthly reporting to implementation team and executive but ensure that quality of output is maintained
  • Manage the quarterly reviews and the contribution of performance channel activity for PCA’s

 

The Candidate: 

  • 4+ years of experience including some analytics/reporting/project management/client management/supplier management elements to their job
  • Strong Numeracy and Excel skills
  • Experience working across variety of performance digital channels – Experience of Programmatic Display is essential
  • Experience working with AdServers and pixel tagging
  • An excellent project manager
  • Excellent Communication skills with experience presenting to the client
  • Numerate
  • High Attention to Detail

  • Very personable
  • Logical – finds it easy to problem solve
