Job Description

The Client

A large car hire company, as one of the largest paid search direct response client across Publicis Media’s portfolio, has been a relentlessly growing account across different search engines during the last 5 years. Consequently, the client has recently been pitching to new markets to join our global marketing effort. While we are onboarding new markets, due to the size of these and an already large multinational team, we have been challenged on achieving greater efficiencies. Even if we are already leveraging several well-known technologies for this aim, we are looking for someone to bring the account to the next level of automation with a bespoke approach. You will be joining a team of 12 people that manage the account and client with best-in-class media strategy and you will be pivotal for the further development of the team and account.

The Role

The Junior Data Scientist will be involved in in-depth data analysis, model building and dataset adaptation for client needs; you want to leverage your data insight skills to influence business strategy.

As a Junior Data Scientist, your role will be highly varied and multi-faceted. The role entails working with the team to understand where most of their time is spent and search for a solution to optimise data analysis methods, in addition, to assist with data integration & streamlining. Furthermore, you’ll be working in tandem with a team of developers (3rd party) to maintain and update the running of our online dashboard, informing data visualisation and representation.

Some of the main objectives of this mission will be:

  • Working with team and developers to improve data visualisation & reporting
  • Develop predictive models and algorithms, such as budget forecasting
  • Mine large & growing volumes of data across media publishers and 3rd party tech vendors
  • Find actionable insights to drive ongoing improvements and fuel business growth across markets
  • Guide next steps at various points in product lifecycle, such as dashboard development
  • Detect market opportunities

Qualifications

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge of Python and PySpark, in particular packages such as Pandas, Numpy, SciPy, Matplotlib (or equivalent).
  • Experience selecting, developing and refining machine-learning models.
  • Knowledge and/or interest in Natural Language Processing.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in statistical data analysis and data visualisation.
  • Experience handling varied and complex data sources to draw accurate and insightful conclusions.
  • A desire to work with Big Data technology, as well as with Graph databases would be an advantage.
  • Confidence to proactively build relationships with both internal teams and external vendors, and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starting attitude, ability to thrive in an autonomous environment.
