Overview

 Do you love people, psychology, design, data and combining it all with your UX design and research chops?   From desktop to mobile, are you fascinated by how people interact with experiences, make decisions and how the different types of audiences, and their varying intents, all influences the many elements of a design? 

The UX Design & Research Strategist, on the Performics Content team, is a unique opportunity to influence the strategy and experience of some of the largest brands in the world.   Whether it is how information is presented, the overall information architecture or the ability for users to complete a given task; you’ll utilize your wide-ranging tool belt of UX skills and a plethora of data to ensure a rewarding result for both site user and clients. 

You’ll get exposure to a large array of client types and synthesize your work and findings alongside the outputs of a close-knit, cross-functional team.  Together, you’ll learn from one another and execute ongoing strategies to create data-driven designs based off analytical insights, A/B tests, user feedback and an array of other mechanisms that help and inform and validate your work for insights and future optimizations.

Key Position Responsibilities  

 ·       Have a strong passion for user research, the user experience, data and people.

·       Perform heuristic analyses, cognitive walkthroughs and competitive analyses to understand key issues around a client or competitor site or mobile experience. 

·       Utilize the various user design and research methods to understand and empathize with the user’s motivations, friction points and decision making processes.  

·       Convert qualitative and quantitative data into low to mid-fidelity wireframes and prototypes

·       Have fluency in the creation of information architecture and sitemaps to allow users to accomplish key tasks

·       Make data-informed decisions around future design iterations utilizing the feedback and results of research and testing

·       Utilize session recordings, heatmaps, scroll maps, etc. through voice of customer tools to better understand the friction points that might be hindering successful user outcomes. (e.g. Hotjar Lucky Orange, Sessioncam, etc.)

·       Synthesizes results of research methods and communicate them cross-functionally to team and other stakeholders.

·       Take an active role in the strategic direction and ideation of user-centric content and experiences that embrace user needs

·       Yes, desktop, but all of the above applies greatly to the practices and intent that surrounds the mobile experiences

·       Be able to effectively communicate and articulate ideas and concepts, while also being open to receiving feedback and direction

Qualifications

Qualifications

·       College degree w/2yrs experience in UX design, user research, human factors, psychology CRO or similar fields.

·       Strong business acumen: the ability to relate, understand, grasp concepts, and interpret client/user needs.

·       Fluency in a number of UX design and user research related methodologies (e.g. personas, user / task flows, journey maps, use cases, scenarios, wireframes, information architecture, etc.)

·       Ability to create iterative, low- and mid-fidelity wireframes and prototypes

·       Ability to develop surveys, polls and other methods to allow for actionable insights and optimization to occur

·       Familiarity with related UX design tools (Axure, Sketch, InVision, or other similar UI design and prototyping software.

·       Demonstrated experience in understanding and solving for usability problems

·       Capability to write effective surveys, polls, research scripts that elicit insights

·       Possess a portfolio of work from the many parts of the UX process, wireframes alongside end state examples.

·       Ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple concurrent projects

·       Strong ability to work independently as well as in groups

·       Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

·       Keen attention to detail

·       Possess intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills and just be a good person!

 

A Few “Nice to Have” Qualifications:

·       Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

·       Fluency (or more) with digital Analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or similar tools). 

·       Experience with the many facets of paid media, SEO or Conversion optimization

·       Familiarity with basic, relevant concepts related to web sites (HTML/CSS/etc.)

·       Familiarity or experience with A/B Testing

·       Competency in MS Excel or related tool
