Job Description

Role Responsibility

The Associate Media Director is responsible for determining and leading the overall media strategy on some of our largest and most active accounts. With the support of their team, the Associate Director is primarily responsible for managing media strategy and implementation on assigned accounts and ensuring client satisfaction through service delivery and the agreeing and delivering on media objectives. Working with the Media Director and Agency Practices, they require a strong digital understanding of all channels, and how digital fits into the overall client strategy.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge

1)       To develop a client education & knowledge enhancement program in terms of media

2)       Excellent grasp of communications strategy with a full understanding of how advertising works and key advertising principles

3)       A full understanding of the agency's thinking model and the ability to activate it

4)       A full understanding of clients’ business sales, competitors, customers, objectives/and sympathetic incorporation of these considerations into the communications strategy

5)       A sound understanding of trading issues and how this impacts on media strategy

6)       Comprehensive knowledge of all practices, in particular, Data Science, Content, Commerce and Exchange, and the ability to sell to client’s relevant services

7)       Expertise in all research data, including client research such as Sales Data, Awareness tracking, Competitive Data, etc.

8)       Be familiar with and able to sell advanced research tools 

9)       Thorough knowledge of the media marketplace and opportunities available and build constructive relationships with key media owners where relevant

  • Skills

1)       Possess strong managerial and leadership skills

3)       Possess good verbal and written communication skills, strong selling skills, strong on numeracy, literacy, and accuracy

  • Product

1)       To develop and sell communication plans either as the lead planner or as part of a planning team, depending on the size and complexity of the business

2)       To ensure internal & external marketing of the agency's work in the regional and international awards

3)       To ensure a thorough use of the agency's thinking model involving all relevant divisions, i.e. bringing specialists’ expert knowledge into the planning process early and ensuring thorough liaison with the Investment teams to maximize return on the client's investment

  • People

1)       To monitor the day-to-day aspects of junior employees’ work to ensure high-quality output

2)       To assist the GM in carrying out appraisals

3)       To provide on the job training and learning opportunities for junior employees in your team

4)       To be a strong team-player within account/planning teams, buying and specialist teams

5)       A good rapport with Publicis Media colleagues across all divisions, clients, other agencies and media owners

  • Operations

1)       To undertake additional projects beyond client responsibilities as requested, e.g. help on new business, analysis for regional offices

2)       To proactively manage clients' expectations

 

 

Qualifications

- We're looking for an integrated media planner with 6 to 8 years of experience in a Media Agency with strong strategic media planning and buying skills (both digital and offline media)

- Arabic speaker

- Experience working in Amman and strong knowledge of the MENA Market

- Experience working with telcos is a plus
