Job Description

This position requires a highly motivated, technical & entrepreneurial person to lead day to day strategic management across Essity EMEA Performance Media business, overseeing strategic plan development and all aspects of execution, whilst simultaneously delivering immaculate client serving.

We are looking for someone who can come in and immediately make an impact. This person should exude confidence and be able to motivate, educate and develop a large team. Whilst the successful candidate will be well supported by a team of 6 performance media specialists, it is expected that they should be able to ‘hit the ground running’, and for the most part be able to manage their team autonomously, and be the key Senior contact for Planning, Digital, and Client teams.

The role will likely involve travel to the client’s offices in Germany and the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities

o   Develop performance program strategies and analysis for clients on both a local and regional level (e.g., identifying target audience, geographic, timing/scheduling strategy)

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the client’s products, competition, industry and marketing objectives; and be able to translate them into search strategies
  • Write and deliver media strategies, and oversee the translation of these strategies into execution with your team
  • Overseeing the budgeting process, creation of projections and allocation with internal account teams

o   Demonstrate strong communication skills – be the connective tissue between multiple teams in Performics/Zenith

o   Lead client presentations and meetings, including presentation of data and results with your team members

o   Establish practices to ensure both consistencies in team-work, along with flexibility to flourish under new ideas

  • Identify gaps/inefficiencies in a timely manner and create improved processes
  • Grow best practice training to inspire knowledge sharing within the immediate team and outside
  • Taking ownership of product strategy and testing

o   Team Management

  • Prioritize teamwork, delegating responsibilities and developing team members for advancement
  • Ensure that the Manager/Executive/Senior Executive is effectively developing and optimizing campaigns for added value (assisting where necessary)

The ideal Director will have a passion for the digital industry and technology. In addition to being highly proficient in Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliates and analytics technologies, they will have a firm understanding of other digital media channels. They will be knowledgeable of attribution, conversion rate optimisation, user-experience and consumer behaviour. The individual will be extremely confident in managing internal and external stakeholders at all levels. They will be highly aware of the wider digital and vertical space in which their clients operate.
An effective director will not only be able to manage a team, but will have the ability to lead. They will possess a gravitas that instils confidence within internal and external teams. They will be effective in nurturing professional relationships and be considered as an expert in their field.
They will be interested in understanding how consumers think, feel and behave in relation to products and services; and how technology can enable brands to engage with and influence this behaviour. The individual will enjoy working with data and have very strong attention to detail. They will be a team player who is keen to learn and is results-driven. They will be ready to take responsibility for the effective implementation of activity within their accounts and be eager to share their knowledge with the wider team and be an effective mentor and role model to their Executive & Senior Executive.


Pre-requisites for the Role

  • Paid Search & Paid Social related experience
  • Good understanding and experience in managing ROI & DR focused campaigns
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative and inquisitive mind
  • Team training and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, particularly explaining technical concepts to those in non-technical roles
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of media research tools – you know their strengths/weaknesses, and when and how to effectively use them
  • Keen attention to detail and an analytical approach to achieving objectives
  • Experience in using tools as SA 360, GA, Facebook manager
