Job Description

Reports to
Manager - Owned Strategy, Account Director – Owned Strategy

Owned strategy is one of three divisions that make up the Performance Content offering at Performics alongside UX and Content.

Job Purpose

To develop and execute all activity aimed at optimising and improving search performance across our client’s owned platforms. You will be working in a close-knit team responsible for delivering high-quality work for one of the largest and most reputable brands.

You will be the senior lead for technical execution, acting as the driving force behind the teams output. You will have responsibility for the workload of an off-shore team, focusing on quality of output and alignment with wider strategic goals.

You will also have responsibility for client reporting and technical delivery, ensuring that the data input is accurate, and the analysis paints an accurate picture of client performance vs. KPIs.

Key responsibilities

  • To have high-level technical knowledge across SEO including the ability to execute all aspects of on-site and off-site SEO
  • To have the ability to utilise industry reporting, analysis and insight tools, such as SEMRush, Majestic, ahrefs, Brightedge ETC.
  • High-level understanding of Analytics platforms including Google & Adobe Analytics
  • To manage the workload and standard of the Owned Strategy Execs and off-shore teams
  • An understanding of the role plays in forming strong foundations to ensure wider marketing activity can meet business objectives and digital KPIs
  • To deliver consistently high-quality outputs i.e. technical audits, landing page optimisations, CRO tests, presentations, proposals, reports
  • To keep up to date with all industry developments
  • Achievement of client campaign objectives
  • To have an understanding of client business objectives and background
  • To join meetings and generate actions and follow up with team and external suppliers
  • To provide effective support of the Account Director and Account Manager with proposals, SOWs, delivery, and strategy

Relationships (Internal & External)

  • To become a valuable member of the client delivery team across UK and Europe - and within the UK SEO dept
  • To build strong relationships with the UX & Content Marketing teams as well as clients (where applicable) and become an integral part of managing and delivering all owned strategy activity ​​

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of working within a fast-paced agency environment working with enterprise-level clients.
  • Confident, comfortable and professional when communicating with clients and third-parties.
  • Basic understanding of how to measure impact of owned media-based strategies through analytics platforms and other external metrics.
  • Basic understanding of how to identify organic search opportunity, set business-relevant KPIs, project organic search performance and estimate expected return-on-investment.
  • Understanding of how to use Search Trends, Demographic and User-behaviour data to reinforce an owned-first strategy.
  • Ability to establish clear internal briefing and manage projects; distribute the workload appropriately; layout work in well-planned and organised manner; maintains two-way dialogue with others on work and results; brings out the best in people; is a clear and frequent communicator.
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set and work-ethic.
Education
Essential
  • English, Maths and Science GCSE’s grades A-C (or equivalent)

Highly Desirable

  • Post-graduate or undergraduate degree in relevant subject (or equivalent).
