Job Description

Aviva is a fast-paced and increasingly data-heavy client and there is a constant challenge to use our data more effectively in our planning and buying. The client has high objectives and expectations on digital and is very much open to new technologies and formats as well as testing.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in the progression and evolution of the industry and have a well-developed opinion on future direction of digital marketing.   You will lead the team in strategy and best practice across paid search campaigns. In addition to maintaining a stronghold over day to day PPC activity, you will also make strategic campaign recommendations & evolve a data-driven test and learn philosophy.

Audience analysis and activation is a huge focus for this client, so you will be familiar with DMP platforms and cross-channel attribution and activation platforms.

Aviva is a key Performics and Zenith client due to its financial and strategic value, with paid search being their largest channel you will be instrumental in their overall marketing strategy.

Team/Department Profile

Reporting into a Business Director, and working closely with the other Account Director you will lead a team of 3 working in a wider team of 7. You will also work closely with key members of the client planning teams on cross channel campaigns, attribution projects as well as longer-term account expansion initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and direct a team working towards CPA & Revenue goals.
  • Proactively lead the client relationship and ensure needs and requirements are being met
  • Lead portfolio prioritisation and management of key client deliverables
  • Interface with vendors to identify new opportunities for client business growth and account improvements
  • Ensure processes, quality assurance and best practice is in place
  • Develop a complete understanding of each brand's goals, markets, and expectations
  • Interface with other department and partner agency leads on paid search brand strategies
  • Provide business solutions, strategy development and execution in line with client and industry updates
  • Leverage syndicated digital research to benchmark trends and/or manage expectations of forecasted trends
  • Lead in interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, developing, and evaluating team members
  • Contribute to wider Performics Paid Search offering
  • Lead development of ongoing Paid Search strategy & cross channel integration
  • Work on ongoing process improvements and share best practices with the wider Paid search team
  • Develop case studies and present at internal & client events
  • Create development plans and deliver performance review feedback for all team members

Qualifications

The candidate

Must Have

  • Demonstrable experience in a biddable role
  • Experience in managing a team and conducting team appraisals, as well as performance management
  • Experience in driving innovation in Biddable media
  • Advanced knowledge of Search Ads 360 (DoubleClick for Search)
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Ads (AdWords) and Analytics
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of executing audience strategies within search and experience of working with external audience platforms (DMP’s) as well as first-party data.
  • Strong leadership, communication skills and ability to engage with planning teams and also brand leaders at the client side
  • Confidence and experience of working on large accounts ideally in an agency environment
  • Be solution driven, innovative and proactive with how you drive performance for your accounts
  • Be strategic and commercially minded in planning goals for your teams as well as being able to shape and develop a biddable strategy

Will Ideally Have

  • Good knowledge of broader digital spectrum, specifically including social, organic search, YouTube video buying.
  • Been part of a management/leadership team focusing not only on their own team but a wider team
  • Experience with the Adobe platform
