Job Description

The Media Supervisor role is a mid-level management position focused on servicing clients in the creation, execution and monitoring of media plans or on negotiating with external vendors to secure the best investment options in a variety of mediums to maximize clients’ reach to targeted consumers.
 
What You’ll Do      

  • You’ll implement and manage strategic plan development, negotiation and/or execution
  • You will be responsible for learning the client’s business inside and out and staying abreast of industry and competitor information
  • You will work with your Associate Director and/or Director and colleagues within your primary practice area and across other practice areas to create, present and execute communication plans for assigned client brands
  • You may serve as a key client contact to receive client requests and investigate proposed and alternative solutions to maximize client objectives and to identify and/or resolve any execution issues
  • You may serve as a key contact for media partners in a variety of mediums to negotiate best investment opportunities
  • You may monitor plan execution and serve as a first point of contact to raise and resolve any identified issues/discrepancies
  • You may generate media insights using various data sources and craft strategic POVs
  • You may serve as first level coach and supervisor to one or more associates which includes delegating work, checking work, providing performance feedback and completing performance reviews for your direct reports
     

Qualifications

You have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. If your degree is in marketing, advertising, communications, applied mathematics or consumer insights or related field, that’s a plus

  • You have strong quantitative and analytical skills – you can detect and translate a story behind numbers/data
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to translate and present complicated ideas in a simple, and easy to understand yet inspirational /creative style
  • You have exceptional critical thinking and problem solving abilities – ability to think unconventionally in proposing potential solutions or opportunities to issues
  • You demonstrate strong detail orientation and organizational skills
  • You display effective negotiation and influence skills – steeped in required industry, brand, and competitive knowledge
  • You have proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects effectively and work well under pressure to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines

  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as other equivalent programs
  • You’re familiar/proficient with various media tools, including MRI, Simmons, MBOX, Nielsen, DDS, Media Tools, Kantar, comScore, Clear Decisions, TARDIIS, DFA, IMS, Scarborough, etc.
