The Senior Business Analyst role will be working within Zenith’s VM1 Business Intelligence team on data projects including data warehousing, automation, client reporting and analytics. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the needs of the Analytics team are met.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
 

•    Support the Analytics team 
o    Gather requirements, automate repetitive tasks, QA, troubleshoot issues, and maintain existing processes
o    Maintain databases
o    Query tuning
 

•    Interface with the internal Engineering team
o    Update processes to reflect changes in the tech stack
o    Communicate business requirements brought up by either Verizon or internal teams
o    Help QA new datasets and processes
o    Create solutions that benefit both the Engineering and Business Intelligence teams
 

•    Involvement in
o    Tech adoption
o    Data onboarding and ingestion
o    Setting data best practices
o    Advanced analytics analyses

•   5+ years of professional experience as a data/business analyst with a familiarity of the typical tools of the trade in analysis and reporting
•    Understanding of AWS (S3, EC2, Redshift)
•    Command Line (Linux/Unix/Windows)
•    Strong SQL; previous experience using SQL in a professional environment is a must
•    Apache Hive, Presto
•    Hadoop
•    Manipulation of big data/user level data
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to communicate well to both infrastructure, data, media, analytics, or management teams
•    Ability to communicate technical subjects to a non-technical audience
•    Excellent time management and organizational skills
•    Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a dynamic environment

Preferred:
•    Experience with R and/or Python
•    Scala, Spark, Java
•    ETL/ELT experience
•    AGILE/Scrum
•    Tableau or similar dashboard tool 
•    Working knowledge of the Digital Media ecosystem a plus
