Job Description

This is an exciting role within the Starcom Investment team working on a flagship Pharma client. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a team that is forward thinking and always looking to deliver innovative and dynamic solutions. We have excellent client relationships in place, and you will have the opportunity for direct contact throughout the campaign planning and buying process.

 

As Director, Investments you will own the client relationship, get to know all there is to know about the client's business and make sure the team deliver on their promises. You’ll be comfortable challenging the client, defending the work and proposing new and innovative solutions to briefs.

You will be in charge of a group of 3 planner/buyers reporting directly to the VP Media Director, Digital Investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Media buyers to deliver best in class activity across a variety of digital mediums for client ensuring all KPIs are delivered.
  • To be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of Novartis; get first hand client information and use it for improvements in product and services.
  • To inspire and motivate your team whilst displaying strong leadership behaviors which allow you to act and delegate as required.
  • Meeting all deadlines set by either the Investment team, planning team and/or the client - ensuring your team do the same.
  • To be able to hold complex negotiations at a senior level with sales house and the client, whilst maintaining integrity and living the values of Starcom.
  • To ensure accurate forecasting in line with agency requirements and timely completion of management reports.
  • Keeping abreast of changes within the Digital marketplace - sharing market intelligence with the Investment team and client.
  • To maintain a comprehensive understanding of how to deliver the client guarantee, whilst assuming responsibility for managing its implementation.
  • Building productive relationships with planning teams and the Novartis clients (understanding the client’s organizational structure and the market they operate in)
  • Using the appropriate systems and technology to get under the skin of audience behavior

 

 

 

Qualifications

You should have a fully-rounded knowledge of Digital Media buying and planning, and continually keep up-to-date with market developments across various Digital mediums.

You should be passionate about delivering exceptional work for our clients, be able to multi-task and chip in during New Business pitches both behind the scenes and in the pitch itself. You should have a minimum of 7+ years’ experience of paid media experience.

Core skills should include:

  • Progressive experience in Digital investment roles

  • Ability to strategically plan campaigns from audience determination, through how to best flight and execute campaigns to align with clients strategic goals and critical metrics

  • Advanced presentation skills – comfortable presenting regularly to groups of all crafts and sizes

  • Ability to work well with a diverse range of people from the CEO to the entry level graduates at Starcom, client side and media owners too

  • Ability to inject ideas, innovation and leading industry developments into planning assignments

  • Experience using analytics too inform and validate planning and digital strategy

  • Excellent communication, tact, and decision-making skills with the ability to think creatively

  • Existing experience and/or relationships with Pharma industry would be an advantage
