Job Description
We are seeking a Tax Analyst to support our Indirect Tax team in Frisco, TX. This position is based at our corporate office in Frisco, TX. The role provides advanced analytical support, assists with complex compliance activities, and serves as a key resource to the Indirect Tax Manager.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing Business Tangible Personal Property Tax and Unclaimed Property compliance, including data preparation, return review, and coordination with external compliance partners.
- Maintain and validate asset and property tax data to ensure accurate and timely filings.
- Support audit activities by gathering documentation, preparing responses, and tracking auditor requests.
- Review tax assessments and prepare preliminary analyses for potential appeals.
- Conduct research on state and local tax regulations to support compliance strategies and identify opportunities for assessment reductions.
- Prepare and submit Excess Proceeds claims with applicable jurisdictions.
- Monitor and reconcile monthly balances for indirect tax accounts, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrections.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for month‑end and quarter‑end close.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Accounting, Real Estate, and Operations—to resolve tax‑related issues.
- Provide backup support to other team members and contribute to process improvements within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in indirect tax, property tax, or related accounting functions.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and familiarity with property or real estate terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with tax compliance software such as OneSource and TrackerPro is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
