Job Description
Our Advertising technology team is building a holistic advertising platform which will be key to e-commerce company’s ad revenue growth strategy. We will build cutting edge machine learning and optimization algorithms to ingest, model and analyze online and in-store data from e-commerce companies. Importantly, we will build smart systems that deliver relevant retail ads and experiences that connect customers with the brands and products they love and enable advertisers to achieve their product sales goals via campaign activation.
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will be responsible for designing best in class QA automation and Integration frameworks and smartly testing applications with tools supporting white box testing. You will work on testing solutions focused on e-commerce AdTech components – API, AdEngine and analytics
Job Location: US(RWC/NYC)
Responsibilities:
Identifying and testing AdEngine Functional use cases.
Testing the integration flows with different backend API and Analytics modules.
Co-ordinating with the development team and working on developing scalable test automation frameworks in parallel to development.
Understanding the product specifications by working closely with the product managers.
Participating in all the implementation discussions and suggesting possible solutions.
Defining test strategy and plan for the new features developed.
Benchmarking AdEngine by performing load and performance tests.
Debugging and troubleshooting issues within the AdEngine flow as well as on production.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience as a SDET.
Experience in testing of sponsored product listing AdEngine for e-commerce company.
Must have tested ad campaign delivery aspects such as campaign delivery, pacing of the campaigns, budget feedback loop, frequency capping and targeting based on keyword, category, demography, closed loop reporting.
Must have tested system which handles ad-requests at scale effectively
Setup automated performance test scenarios that can be included at various stages of product verification (e.g., unit / functional level as well as e2e integration level)
Capabilities to research new ways of performance testing and recommend system configuration and tuning improvements based on observations.
Hands on experience with QA Automation framework development & design (Preferred language Python).
Hands on experience in automating backend applications (Preferred Framework - Pytest).
Good knowledge of relational databases and good debugging skills.
In-depth understanding of important architectures (Monolith, Service oriented, event driven etc) and protocols- eg. Http, Tcp/Ip, gRPC etc.
Experience working in Linux/Unix environment.
Strong understanding of testing methodologies.
Performance testing using JMeter.
Bachelors in computer science/ Engineering, master’s is desirable.
Base Compensation Range: $120,000 - $140,000
In accordance with applicable law, the above salary range provided is PubMatic’s reasonable estimate of the base salary for this role. The actual amount may vary, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition to salary PubMatic also offers a bonus, restricted stock units and a competitive benefits package.

Return to Office: PubMatic employees throughout the global have returned to our offices via a hybrid work schedule (3 days “in office” and 2 days “working remotely”) that is intended to maximize collaboration, innovation, and productivity among teams and across functions. All PubMatic employees in the US and India are required to be fully vaccinated to return to our offices. Covid-19 boosters are not required at this point in time.
