Job Description
Purpose of Role
Performs tasks like Costing; Pricing of Goods or Services; Supports the Inventory Process; Landed Cost, Labour, Raw Material and BOM Costing. Prepares, verifies or certifies Cost Accounting; Fixed Asset Accounting & prepares Budget Control Report.
Responsibilities
Checking & approval of Stock Ledger Adjustment Journals
Developing cost Standards for Raw Materials
Monthly Review of products raw material usage variances & reports
Reconciling beginning raw material, work in progress and finished
goods stock
Analyzing production cost and recommending changes
Leda stock reconciliations, coordination of routine Physical Stock takes
and Inventory cycle count
Analysis of monthly products unit activities/performance and reports
Presents monthly product profitability analysis reports
Analysis of customers monthly performance reports
Collects cost information, plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases
of raw material and operations costs)
Monthly review of all the products costing (due to fluctuating costs of
materials) before the preparation of monthly management accounts
Assists with the review and checking of all daily posting for accuracy –
particularly Inventory
Preparation and posting of monthly Prepayments, accrual journals and
other necessary journals to ensure completeness of final accounts.
Monthly Budget into the system (SAGE)
Preparation of monthly comprehensive Budgetary Control Income
Statement
Preparation of monthly cash flow statement
Assists in budget input data analysis and final preparation of annual
income statement, budget
Developing Depreciation schedules
Qualifications
Candidate must have at least 3 years of cognate experience in this
specific task area of Accountancy (i.e. Cost & Management Account) in manufacturing sector generally and Pharmaceutical industry particularly.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting from a reputable
institution. Post Graduate degree will be an added advantage.
Professional Certification: ACCA, ICAN
Strong Communication, interpersonal, analytical and IT skills.
Thorough knowledge of accounting procedure.
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP).
Experience with accounting software, like SAGE.
Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLLOUPS and
pivot tables) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to details.
Strong time management skills.
Able to analyze detail and summarize findings for higher Authorities.
Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
