Job Description

Accounting Functions:

  • Establishing GAAP in accounting work processes, pproceduresand policies.
  • Ensuring security of funds by implementing proper accounting controls.
  • Preparing and ensuring accuracy of the annual statement of accounts.
  • Computing of revenue, capital estimates and forecasts.
  • Reviewing Group’s accounting system for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring all IT issues in the Accounts department is resolved.
  • Ensuring regular reconciliation of all sister company accounts.
  • Maintaining and keeping adequate records of company’s assets.
  • Managing all subordinate staff to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Restructuring the company’s Accounts departments and ensure ISO compliance.
  • Establishing key performance Indicators for the corporate Accounting function.
  • Developing internal control procedures for all parts of the business
  • Preparing  statutory accounts, financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, guidelines and statues including the production of financial returns as required
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget along with other staff across the organization, providing reporting mechanisms to facilitate overall budget control
  • Developing and maintaining all financial systems, internal controls and providing advice/training to budget holders and staff within the organization on finance related procedures, issues, budgetary control, etc.
  • Assisting in preparation the annual departmental plan and review, ensuring the effective allocation of work and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensuring and monitoring adequate financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management.
  • Overseeing the production of monthly reports including reconciliations with Funders and Pension plan requirements

Fund /Facility Management

  • Package, prepare and present proposals to potential lenders, ventures capitalist, bankers and equity financiers and follow up for consummation
  • Secure short-time funding that meets business requirements for operation (if need be)
  • Mobilize and ensure effective management of funds to ensure returns at all times
  • Overall reduction in cost of funds and costs associated with doing business
  • Consistently seeking to reduce operating cost
  • Managing lenders, bankers, shareholders and external auditor’s relationship.

Relationship Management

  • Liaises with company (internal and external) auditors as regards annual year- end audit, stock and cash count
  • Liaises with government agencies on issues relating to tax on behalf of the company
  • Manage cordial relationship with Chams plc
  • Be involved in Managing Local and Foreign supplier relationship to ensure optimum value

People /Team Management

  • Coach and develop others in the team
  • Provide platform for accountability within the team

Costing

  • Effectively analyze product costing using applicable costing techniques
  • Advice Management on Cost-benefit analysis of all projects
  • Cost reviews-Putting in place procedures to reduce costs

Other Assignment

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Reporting Manager

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum -Degree (B.Sc) or Higher Diploma (HND) Accounting  
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of cognate experience.
  • Must possess relevant Professional Qualifications
  • Must be able to operate relevant accounting packages: SAGE, ODOO, QBK etc 
  • Audit Experience is an added advantage
  • Project Management skills
