Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials. Supervises transport of materials to and from departments and ensures material needs are met throughout the organization.

Location: Port Harcourt

Work Hours: Min 8 hours daily

Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the inventory of the organization
  • Manage a free BOM scrubber design to review manufacturer's current part lists.
  • Implement and train buyers to be Buyer/Planners and managing their own shop orders.
  • Manage, coordinate and schedule facility relate projects ranging from building renovation to equipment specifications and purchases utilizing bid processes.
  • Implement OSHA forklift safety standards to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations when unloading freight trucks.
  • Plan, control, and supervise the purchasing and inventory control activities for a manufacturing facility of high-end passenger elevators.
  • Meet with senior plant executives to report logistic department KPI's and budget expenditures.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure commissary stock levels are maintained and damage goods are replaced or survey.
  • Review shop drawings with production personnel to determine engineering mistakes of dropping wrong materials into the computer modules BOM.
  • Conduct commissary sales, maintaining inventories, placing orders, preparing purchasing reports for non-purchase and purchase card orders.
  • Ensure that all OSHA and safety rules are maintained and enforce, as well as all hazardous materials handling/shipping/disposal regulations.
  • Oversee booking of scrap customers for scrap unloading
  • Monitoring of scrap loading and maintain safety practices
  • Preparation of waybills for scrapped items
  • Scrap yard maintenance
  • Upload quantity of Quantity into the system
  • Maintain inventory list of items in the scrap yard
  • Maintain proper file for scrap related documentations
  • Spent Alumina loading into jumbo bags
  • Spent Alumina documentations
  • MINMAX items report generation and review
  • Any other job that will be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of HND/BSc or its equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument or Electronics) discipline
  • Minimum of 5years working experience handling materials
