Building Surveyor
Job Description
A multi-disciplinary property partnership is looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to provide a full range of Building Surveying services to their varied client base. They have grown to be one of the largest and most respected property consultancy’s in the UK with a network of offices across England and Wales. From private landowners to local authorities, pension funds to farmers, their client experience is among the most varied in UK property.
Role & Responsibilities:
- To assist in generating fees through the management and development of existing and new clients.
- To provide a full building surveying service to external clients and in house where required
- Carry out Building Surveys of all types of commercial buildings and at times residential properties
- Preparation of Schedules of Dilapidations
- Project management, contract administration and design for refurbishment projects for commercial premises
- Undertaking CDM Co-ordinator role for in-house and external clients.
- Providing a full Party Wall etc Act 1996 service to Building and Adjoining owners
- Preparation of Schedules of Condition
- Advising clients on preventative maintenance and planned maintenance strategy and implementing same.
- Investigating and advising client on specific building problems / defects
- Fire insurance valuations for commercial buildings and property portfolios
- Acting as expert witness in building or property disputes and providing appropriate reports etc
- Undertaking DDA access audits
Skills & Experience:
- MRICS Qualified or working towards chartership
- Broad range of experience in professional and project work
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to demonstrate technical competence.
- Current driving license.
- Excellent time management skills.
