Junior PHP Developer (WordPress) for International Magazine Publisher

The job will involve developing new WordPress websites and plugins and some maintenance and development of Drupal websites and modules. On a day to do basis you will be developing security features, page load optimisation features, ecommerce features and website performance improvements.

The company has ambitious plans to develop and invest in cross-platform and WordPress Multisite technologies. You will also be working on some advanced features, requiring a good knowledge of PHP, WordPress and some JavaScript. Understanding of Facebook, Twitter and Google APIs will also be useful.

You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your coworkers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well (jQuery, JavaScript).

• 2+ years experience working in the industry as a web developer
• Experience working on WordPress and Drupal platforms
• Strong website/application development skills in PHP, JavaScript / jQuery and HTML
• Experience designing, building and managing MySQL databases
• Solid experience in developing website functions, plugins and modules including widgets
• Experience working with eCommerce platforms
• Experience working with version control (GIT)
• Meeting/liaising with internal clients to discuss requirements and/or project progress

Good to have:

• Knowledge of PHP frameworks (Zend framework, Symphony framework, CakePHP)
• HTML and CSS front-end development knowledge
