Job Description

What if you could use your technology skills to develop a product that impacts the way communities’ hospitals, homes, sports stadiums, and schools across the world are built? Construction impacts the lives of nearly everyone in the world, and yet it’s also one of the world’s least digitized industries, not to mention one of the most dangerous. That’s why we’re looking for a talented Manager, Software Engineering to join Procore’s Financials division in transforming a historically underserved industry.

As a Manager, Software Engineering at Procore, you’re given the unique opportunity to drive the next generation of application platform initiatives in a global SaaS infrastructure. Working with Product Management and UX, you will lead the development of tools to innovate and transform how financial processes and data, from budgeting and forecasting, to invoices and payments, are managed in the construction industry.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Engineering, Financials and has the opportunity to work remotely or be based in our Carpinteria, CA, Austin, TX or New York, NY offices. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Product Management and UX to create a roadmap and deliver new features

  • Own the overall success of your team’s business domains, managing the improvement of functionality, APIs, UX, testing and performance

  • Lead a team of software engineers by setting measurements of success and establishing well-defined agile processes

  • Collaboratively participate in architectural design decisions

  • Mentor and coach your teams and the broader organization

  • Prioritize, plan projects and features, manage risk and track external commitments

  • Drive excellence and product quality in key areas of the Procore in our Financials division

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or comparable work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in managing a software development team

  • Experience developing enterprise applications

  • Strong operational excellence in highly scalable distributed systems

  • Proficient in software development process, e.g., agile processes, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing

  • Experience leading large initiatives and evaluating technical approaches

  • Track record of solving complex problems

  • Domain knowledge on finance, accounting, eCommerce or transactional payment systems a plus
