Procept is recruiting to fill the position of a Measurement Engineer, who is responsible for conducting drive tests using specialized equipment and software to collect measurement data on network performance, including signal strength, coverage, and quality. This role entails recording and analyzing collected data to improve cell site performance. This position requires a candidate who is willing to perform fieldwork, possesses a high level of patience, is dedicated to achieving goals, is technically qualified, and is a team player with an action-oriented approach. The ideal candidate should be able to analyze and interpret data, applying professional judgment to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.

Job Description

  1. Equipment Handling which includes Proficiency in setting up, operating and maintaining drive test equipment in challenging conditions.
  2. Ability to understand and interpret main KPIs such as dropped calls, call setup success rate, data throughput, etc.
  3. Knowledge of Drive Testing Tools and Proficiency in using drive testing tools such as TEMS, Rhode & Swartz, Tems Pocket
  4. Ability to use a spectrum analyser to identify interference and signal issues
  5. Understanding of Network Technologies such as GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, and 5G technologies
  6. Knowledge of cellular architecture and understanding of RF principles and radio propagation
  7. GPS and Mapping Software with Competency in using GPS and mapping software for route planning and data correlation.
  8. Real time monitoring –skills in real time monitoring and alerting.
  9. The engineer must be proficient in conducting in the following testing activities:
  • Single Site Verification (SSV)
  • Single Cell Function Testing (SCFT)
  • Cluster drive testing
  • Benchmark drive testing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 4-5 years experience in network drive testing or a related field is preferred
  • Critical thinking – evaluating information critically to make informed decisions
  • Analytical thinking – ability to analyse data, identify patterns and support to determine the root cause
  • Communication skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to report findings and collaborate with team members
