  • Are you a highly experienced Mac tech who uses the Mac OS as their primary system?
  • Have you been working on your own for 3+ years as a 1099 contractor for corporate clients?
  • Are you prepared to work with us as a 1099 independent contractor, where you have your own transportation, current model Mac laptop, software and proper insurance?
  • Do you have the time and desire for extra work in the Northern NJ area?
  • Does a part-time opportunity, where you get scheduled onsite work during normal business hours, sound good to you?

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite tech support for clients with Mac OS in a mixed Mac and Windows environment.
  • Get to the root cause of technical issues based on a help desk ticket submitted by the client.
  • Provide not only resolution but prevention from recurrence.
  • Interact in a down to earth and non-technical (no nerd speak) way with the goal of exceeding customers’ expectations of what support resolution should look like.
  • Be prompt and attentive to the client and their professional environment.
  • Provide full support docs of what was attempted, as well as what was accomplished, to resolve the client's issue.
  • Be aware of the current news, trends, and problems that are occurring within the tech support community on the Mac OS platform and the interaction with Windows networks.
  • Available weekdays for regular support while prepared for the possible need for after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

Knowledge Required

  • Installation, configuration, and support of Mac OS (from Yosemite to High Sierra) 10.10.x to 10.13.x in a Windows AD Environment. 
  • Support and troubleshooting of Mac Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, Fonts, iOS
  • Networking connectivity and access troubleshooting
  • Installation, configuration, and support of local and LAN printers and plotters.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years experience as a technician supporting 15+ users in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with all Apple hardware (iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini)

Skills Required:

  • Provide customer service that would earn you public praise
  • Ability to explain concepts to the end users so they can truly understand. 
  • Effective and efficient problem-solving 
  • Ability to effectively perform issue isolation and resolution in order to minimize downtime.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to find more than one way to resolve an issue.

Optional but a plus:

  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
  • Mac Integration Basics (MIB)
  • Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT)
